Have an itch for old school analog? Learn how to build stories, games, and animations for the award winning, Cathode Mark 1 (Mk1) Console, by Ryan Mason @ Public Games. The Cathode Mk1 is a game console that plays Unity 3D games across multiple CRT televisions.
The Cathode Mk1 was designed and built In Corktown Toronto using free software and open source hardware.
We supply the Unity Framework and show you how to build multi-channel art with it! Bring an existing idea, or come up with one on the fly with friends, strangers or all by yourself!
You'll learn how the Mk1 system behaves, discover its limitations, and get an idea of what might be interesting to prototype on it. You'll also learn how to develop for it with Unity 3D and how to control which screens are active allowing for a variety of creative possibilities! Games created may be featured at an upcoming event at Electric Perfume as well as the 2018 XOXO festival in Portland. Plus you'll make new friends and hang out during the jam!
