Welcome Jammers!

Do you think all educational games are stupid and boring? Have you heard about The Typing of the Dead or Frog Fractions ;)? Good educational games may not be plentiful but they are possible. 

Are you up to challenge of designing and implementing your very own educational game in 48 hours that runs in a browser? Then your are at the right place. Pull out your calendar and reserve the weekend of 21-23. May for this wonderful event.

Rules of the Jam

The gamejam takes place online this time. You know, because of covid and such. But next year we will try to make it live (unless we still have the covid or another pandemic or the apocalypse happens). 

The game you create should fulfill the following criteria:

1. It should be somehow educational - it is in the name of jam after all.
2. It should be runnable in a web browser - ain't nobody got time to download an install games these days, and it is not a difficult restriction, every reasonable engine can export to HTML5 and WebGL and such.
3. It should adhere to the theme of the jam, which will be announced at start of the event.

Your game will be judged by highly renowned expert professional veteran judges in three categories:

1. How much fun the gameplay is
2. How much educational the game is
3. How beautiful the game looks and sounds

The winners will get recognition and respect and  medals and such.

Hi Jammers, I am pleased to announce that this year’s game jam theme is “Dystopian Paradise”.

If you still need a team, or want to have a break, or just hang out, you can do all that on our discord server: https://discord.gg/YKyF8QM6zT. You can also use it to share your progress, show your half-finished game to other jammers and gather some feedback.

The game jam ends on Sunday at 4 PM (Central European Time), don’t forget to upload your game here on itch before the time runs out. Most importantly though, have fun! I am looking forward to playing all the games you create :)
