The Card Game Jam is all about making brand-new card games under fun, creative limits. Over the course of the jam, you’ll invent mechanics, design decks, and turn simple rules into surprising play experiences.
This isn’t just about copying poker or solitaire — it’s about experimenting: build a solo challenge, a competitive duel, a deck-builder, or something no one has seen before. The twist? Every game must stick to a strict 3-Color Limit, keeping visuals bold, simple, and inventive.
🖌 The Core Challenge
Make a card game. Any style counts — solo, competitive, co-op, or something experimental.
Keep it inside Picotron. Code, art, and sound should all be made within the platform.
The restriction isn’t here to hold you back — it’s meant to spark creativity. A tight palette makes every choice matter and forces clever design solutions.
🎲 Optional Bonus Challenges
Want an extra layer of spice? Try one (or more) of these side challenges:
Deck Limit – Max 52 cards total.
3-Color Limit. Your entire game — cards, background, UI — can only use up to three colors.
Audio Driven – Make sound or music part of the gameplay loop.
Surprise Mechanic – Mix cards with dice, rhythm, physics, or something unexpected.
These are completely optional — use them if they inspire you!
