I hope you have a sweet tooth, because it's Candy Friday, and we're having a game jam! The jam will start Friday 17th, 10 AM CST, and will end exactly two weeks later. This jam isn't ranked and there are no awards; it's just for fun and making friends!
The theme will be a Candy Buffet. What that means is, a list of candy-related words will be provided, and you can choose whichever ones you like, or you can use our helpful WHEEL OF CANDY to choose for you!
What is Candy Friday?
In our Discord server, The Valley, members gather on Friday to share what sweets & treats we've enjoyed that day. It's a fun little tradition to bond over. And we thought, what better way to share the joy of Candy Friday than to create a sweet game jam?
If you want to join the server you can find it Here!
Jam rules:
- The theme is a suggestion, not a requirement. Use the theme as a springboard for your creativity. If you have an idea that's only slightly related to the theme, that's okay! The game doesn't even necessarily have to be candy-themed.
- No explicit or hateful content. This jam is for all ages, so please keep everything age-appropriate. It's okay to talk about more mature themes, or use a few Bad Words, but don't go overboard.
- No hateful content or association with hate groups. We all come from different walks of life, so it's important we all respect each other's differences. Homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, and other forms of bigotry aren't acceptable, either in this jam or in life in general.
- Be Aware of other peoples needs. If your game has any material that might be triggering, make sure to use Content Warnings. Similarly, try to make sure your games are accessible
- All types of game are welcome! You don't have to program anything to join. You can make a Pen-and-Paper game, a word document that has some basic rules or even just some sort game-accessory!
- Collaborate! If you have questions about how to do something, you can ask in the Community Tab. You can also find people who might have skills you don't and can work together on a project!
- Be nice. Everyone here has different skill sets strengths and experiences. Don't push people down when you can lift them up instead.
- Have fun!
