The Browser Bash is a new monthly jam focused on creating and promoting fun browser-based games you can play anywhere without having to download anything.

Theme

Our inaugural jam is based on Halloween and fall in general. Your game should have that *fall feeling*. Whether that's a b-movie slasher movie vibe, or a cozy playing in the leaves feeling is up to you. But all games are primarily judged by how well they capture that unique feeling only autumn can bring.

Upload your game to itch.io and report your submission on Discord BEFORE the jam ends.

✅ Your entry MUST follow the theme, subthemes are optional

✅Premade games or already in-progress games started before the jam are welcome! This is a great jam to finally finish that project you've been working on.

🚫 No NSFW, offensive, or discriminatory content

At the end of the Game Jam, there will be a rating period that lasts 1 day. 

Submitters and contributors can vote for players choice winner.

Judges will playtest submissions on livestream, then make judges choice.

Ratings are based on:

🍂 Fall Vibes: Does it have that Fall Feeling

🎮 Gameplay: Fun, Interesting, and Engaging

🎨 Creativity: Unique Ideas or Unexpected Twists

✨ Polish: Overall feel and finish of the game.

🎃 Who can enter?

Anyone from anywhere!

You can work alone or in teams - there is no limit on team size and people can be in multiple teams.

🎃  How do I submit? 

Only one person needs to join itch.io and submit the game.

However, if others on the team also join itch.io, they can be tagged as contributors.

🎃 What kind of game can I make?

Any genre is welcome, as long as it follows the theme and limitations.

Just no NSFW or discriminatory content.

🎃 What engine can I use? 

You can make your game in whatever engine, programming language, or software you like.

The game file needs to be uploaded to itch.io when you submit. 

🎃 When does this Game Jam take place? 

🕛 October 23 at 12:00AM → October 30 at 11:59PM Eastern Standard Time (GMT +5)

This 7-day online game jam begins on October 23th

The jam runs until October 30st at 11:59PM, which is the submission deadline for the event!

The voting period is October 31st till Midnight Eastern Time!
