Welcome back to the Bottlecap Rabbit Games' Interactive Fiction Jam! This will be installment #2, how exciting is that?!
This jam is open to anyone in the IF community, from the greenest writer to one of the old souls that've been around and at it a while! You can use any IF program you like, from the multitude of options with Twine to ChoiceScript, et cetera. So long as you are having a good time, it is all good! Like last time, this will be entirely unranked as it is meant to help nurture your creativity and exercise your writing skills, but there are rules AND a recommended theme this time! Let's get into it, plus some resources if you want to join but aren't too sure of where to start with interactive fiction.
RULES:
- Your game must contain 500 words or more.
- NSFW submissions are welcome, just make sure you put a warning on the game's page somewhere that it's NSFW/18+/17+/et cetera.
- Any genre goes! Horror, romance, fantasy, go with your heart's desire!
- Your entry can start before the game jam begins, but it must be a new project and the majority of its development should fall in the month of November, 2025.
- Demos are permitted, as are fangames.
- No bigotry or discrimination is allowed, aside from fantasy-related issues; I would say be careful of how you write it, and if it is not relevant to your game's plot, I'd avoid it. If it is found that your game contains such, it will be removed and you will not be permitted to join future jams.
- Games featuring incest, minors sexually, and bestiality are strictly not allowed.
- Use of AI is allowed with planning and help with coding, brainstorming, et cetera, but the writing must be entirely from you.
- If your game has triggering content, please list the trigger(s) somewhere in the game or on the game page.
- If you have any further questions or inquiries, please reach out to me on the discord. Or, of course, in the jam's community center.
The recommended theme for this jam is WINTER. Do with that as you please!
