Welcome to the Brainless Music Jam!
All you need to do in this jam is make a song following a specified theme. Any DAW will work, as long as you can come out with something to show at the end of it! 🎵🎶
Like most jams, I will be releasing the theme once the jam officially starts, and you will have ONE WEEK to create and polish a song before the submission date!
This jam is SUPER beginner friendly. If you've always wanted to try your hand at making some music, or have been putting off making songs, please consider participating! 😁

Jam Info
The jam submissions will open on March 15th at 5:00PM EST and end on March 22nd at 11:59PM EST. The judging phase will run from March 22nd to March 29th (could be cut shorter depending on submissions).
There is a nonzero chance that I stream my reaction to each of the songs, so stay tuned for an announcement about that! 👀
Rules
- Collaborations are allowed.
- Any DAW is allowed to make your song. Please refrain from making AI music.
- I know a lot of you are solely musicians, so if you don't want to use Itch.io to submit your song, I will be allowing submissions on Discord, but if you could pretty please do it on Itch that would be cooler since you'll be able to win the community vote and show it to others!
- Please refrain from making your song excessively long (longer than 8 mins is pushing it unless you have a masterpiece of instrumentation on your hands 😭)
- 3 songs is the max song limit if you plan to create multiple songs.
- Make sure your song is an mp3, wav, or other typical music format (literally only those two 💀)
- No NSFW or offensive content please. I doubt this will be an issue but it still stands!
- Make sure the game follows the Discord server’s rules.
Judging
Connection to theme - How close did the song match the theme?
Production - Quality of the song in terms of production (sound, mixing, etc.)
Overall Enjoyment - Was the song enjoyable and fun to listen to?

Winning
Winners will get the Brainless Champion role in the Discord server!
Additionally, if the winner allows, I would like to make a small compilation album with the fan-favorite songs from the jam! These would be posted on the Brainless Music channel, with the winner fully credited and would use the collab feature that YouTube has (if applicable)!
If the winner would like to be a part of the compilation album, I would love to make the songs CC-BY, which lets anyone use the song as long as the original creator (you!) is credited!
