brainCloud is a ready-made backend platform for the development of feature-rich games, apps, and things.
brainCloud provides access to social features for your game – along with comprehensive tools to support your team during development, testing, and user support.

Participating in this jam is a good opportunity to learn how to add cloud features into games if you never have before!
Participating in this jam is a good opportunity to try and implement brainCloud's features in a new and creative, or even repurposed way, if you're confident!
Each game will be ranked by four categories:
Innovation - How novel a game's concept or design is.
Fun - How engaging/satisfying a game's core gameplay loop is.
Theme - How well a game is integrated with the jam's revealed theme.
Polish - How good a game looks, sounds, and feels.
The top 10 games will be determined by community voting, and the top 3 games will be chosen by the brainCloud team.
1st - $300
2nd - $200
3rd - $100

Submissions must include Authentication and at least one other brainCloud feature to be valid.
We recommend trying:
Everyone who participates can use brainCloud realtime features for the duration of the jam, and for another 2 weeks after by entering a voucher code when creating your app, available when the jam starts.
Games must be valid and follow the rules to be considered for prizes. If you are confused on whether or not your game is valid, ask an admin by posting in the community tab.
Once the jam's theme is revealed, you will have 14 days to build your game. If you want to use any assets or art packs you did not make, check the asset's license to make sure you are allowed to do so. You must submit your game before the time limit ends! This includes uploading your game to an itch page, publishing your page, and submitting that page to the jam.
New uploads are locked once the jam ends until the end of the voting period. This means you cannot change the files of your game until after the rankings are complete and the winners are decided. You will still be able to change your app from the brainCloud portal, such as altering brainCloud Properties, if your game supports it!
Do not set a price to download your game. Do not include real in app purchases for the duration of the jam and voting period. Make sure your game is accessible to voters! Remember that you can always change your game or add prices after the voting period.
Do not put content that violates itch.io's policies in your submission. Do not put content that is NSFW or content that is offensive/discriminatory in your submission. Submissions that include disallowed content will be removed.

You own your game! You can continue to update your game after the voting period has ended.
Footage of gameplay of submitted projects will be used by the brainCloud team for a spotlight video.
