Hosted by @TabethaMcNealVA The Black Visual Novel Game Jam is all about working with creative professional developers who work in visual novels to bring more Black stories to life. We want to create a space where Black creators can show their unique storytelling through visual novels. From September 30th - February  28th  you or your new team member will create a visual novel!

We want to showcase more black stories in the space of visual novels! From voice acting, writers, animators, audio, and more. No one can tell our stories like ourselves so let's collaborate with each other and create some FIRE visual novels.

Join our Discord Server here! https://discord.gg/4ErnfCgt9Y

The BVNJ Team will be holding a few Meet & Greets for the jam, where you can find your team members, meet voice actors, and chat about the jam!

Here you can Meet & Greet the attendees in the jam! Come introduce your project, collaborate with members, and meet the mods and creator of the jam!

Here you can find your black voice actors! Please when coming to the event drop your demo reel, website, and 1 social media profile.  So find them here or spread the word with #BVNJVA on social media!

1. MUST BE A BLACK CREATOR! We encourage all creators but this time around we want to see black visual novel creators showcased.

2. Tag your submissions appropriately!  If there is violence, substance abuse,  mature themes, or other such things, please list the types of content within it.  Not respecting this rule will count against your submission.

 3. We respectfully request that all submissions be made without explicit sexual content.  We won't complain if you change it after the jam.

 4.  We ask that when making your visual novel you consider using voice actors, although not required, the visual novel can be partially or fully voiced.

 5. Please tag and label your game properly for that as well as any content not appropriate for minors, and list any triggering and sensitive content on both the game page and in the game.

 6. Although jam games are most of the time free to play, it’s not discouraged to make it pay what you want or commercial later on as long as it's stated beforehand, and you provide a demo. We discourage however the abuse of volunteers for a commercial product in which only you, as the leader, gain. Pay your team.  7. THIS MUST BE A NEW PROJECT! We will be doing another jam in the future for unfinished visual novels.

Community Judging this time around! We want to encourage everyone to bring their best work forward! We will be holding events for everyone who submits a visual novel to the jam!
