It's game jam time! The Bite Size Game Jam is a celebration of little games!
Everyone starts somewhere in their game development journey; you want to make a game, so you look up a game engine (either through a recommendation or because "it sounds easy"), you hit "New Project", you get lost in the documentation for sixteen hours straight, and experience feature creep.
It's great, we love when a game gets out of hand because "ooh this would be neat". This jam is for the little games that maybe got away from us a little, but we're returning to form, baby!
The Bite Size Game Jam is a jam for little games! Short, sweet, no feature creep (hopefully). I personally love finding the neat little games on the itch homepage, and I want this game jam to showcase exactly now neat little games can be!
So, show off your stuff - either solo or in a team of up to 5, and create a neat little game to show the world!
This is my first hosted game jam, so I hope that everyone has fun~!
The rules are simple, but very important. Please read carefully.
>>No Generative AI. Submitting a game made wholly or in part with Generative AI (music, assets, code, etc) will result in your entry being rejected from the jam.
>> You must start from a blank project. It wouldn't be fair otherwise!
>> Games must be safe for work; I know someone was really hoping to debut "Pretty Beach Women 2: Bigger and Beachier" but this is not the jam for that. Next time, maybe.
>> Games must be Free to Play.
>> Games must not be entered into other jams previously. See the "blank project" rule.
>> Ideally, a play session should be less than 10 minutes. This is a little game jam! However, if you choose to make your game longer later, then that's ok :)
>> You do not have to make all your own assets, but assets that you use should be free to download. As well, ensure that proper attribution is given to creators whose assets you use.
