Bezi Jam 14 is here. Four days, $400+ in prizes, and a theme that comes in two halves. This jam has two challenges: build a game around the theme, and show us your best Bezi fan art.
One half of the theme is revealed right now. The other stays sealed until the jam begins. Build your game with whatever engine and tools you like.
We run these jams to support game developers and to promote good development habits. We are committed to contributing to the game dev community when and where we can, and a jam is one of our favorite ways to do that. Whether this is your first jam or your fiftieth, you are welcome here.
He sees you when you are sleeping. He knows when you are awake. And he is already on his way.
๐ The theme has a second half.
We are revealing the Halloween theme today so you can start dreaming. But there is a sealed second theme that reshapes the whole brief, and it drops when the jam begins. Our Discord community gets the full reveal 24 hours early. Clues are hidden all through this page. Happy hunting.
A bit about who we are. We believe AI will never replace people. Bezi is a productivity tool, built to take the friction out of the work so you can spend more of your time on the creative decisions only you can make. It is made for game developers by game developers, by a team that has shipped games and knows where the hours really go.
In practice, Bezi is a development assistant that integrates directly into your game engine, indexing your project to provide context-aware help. Whether you are debugging, generating shaders, building editor tools, or prototyping mechanics, it works from your actual project structure and coding style rather than generic answers. You can download Bezi here, or visit our itch.io page.
Using Bezi is optional. We would love for you to try it and tell us how it fits your workflow, but it is not required to enter or to win.
At the final stroke of midnight, the old year does not leave quietly.

Theme One of Two, revealed now
This season, make us afraid of the dark again
Halloween is the theme, and the whole spectrum is yours: spooky, scary, tense, or genuinely frightening. Atmosphere counts as much as action, and a good scare always beats a big one.
| ๐ก Ways to Read the Theme | |
| Be the monster Flip the lens. Play as the thing under the bed and let the humans be the problem | The place is wrong A house, a ship, a station that should be safe and is not. The setting is the antagonist |
| Outrun it Something is hunting you. Manage the little you have, stay hidden, and do not get caught | Dread over gore The scariest thing is the one you never quite see. Sound, silence, and the unknown |
| The ritual Curses, summonings, things you should not have read aloud. Rules that come with a price | Cozy and spooky Not every scare is grim. Charming, playful, and just a little bit haunted |
Just starting points, not a menu. Twist them, combine them, or ignore them. If it fits the theme, it counts.
๐ THEME TWO
There is a second half to this theme, and it changes how you read the first. It is not a curveball for its own sake. It is the twist that separates the clever entries from the rest. We have hidden clues to it all through this page and across our Discord, so read closely.
One thing we will say now: the obvious approach to Halloween is not the winning one. The Discord community gets the full reveal 24 hours early, on Thursday, October 22. Everyone else gets it when the clock starts on Friday, October 23.
Someone loves you more than anything in this world. They are never, ever going to let you go.

Join our Discord community to connect with fellow developers, find potential teammates, and hunt for clues. Theme hints drop regularly in #community-announcements in the weeks before launch, and the sealed second theme is revealed there 24 hours early. For questions about Bezi, please use #general-discussion.

All winners receive cash prizes, and the pool is $400+. The main game award is decided in two rounds: community voting narrows the field to a Top 30, then the Bezi team plays every one of those finalists and selects the winners. Best Devlog and Best Fan Art are chosen by the Bezi team.
Open to all participants. Decided in two rounds: community voting sets the Top 30, then Bezi team judging decides places 1 through 3. Judging takes a few days, and winners are announced the Friday after community voting ends (November 6).

| Round 1: Community Voting Every eligible game is rated by the community on the criteria below. The Top 30 by community score advance as finalists | Round 2: Bezi Judging The Bezi team plays all 30 finalists and scores them on the same criteria to decide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Winners are announced Friday, November 6 |
Judged by the Bezi team. Open to all participants who post a devlog in #bezi-showcase on our Discord.
We frame this prize as a communication exercise. Knowing how to explain what you built and why you made the choices you made is a real skill, and it is one of the most valuable things you can show in a portfolio. A clear devlog tells a studio, a teammate, or a future collaborator how you think. That is what we are looking to reward here.
| ๐ Best Devlog (Bezi Team Judged) | |
| ๐ Winner | $50 |
Focus on your game first. The devlog is meant to be written during the voting period after the jam ends, not during the four days you are building. Finish your game, then tell the story of how you made it.
Post your devlog in #bezi-showcase on our Discord with the Bezi Jam tag. Tell us about your game, how you built it, and the thinking behind your decisions. Screenshots, GIFs, and video help bring it to life.
| ๐ Devlog Format | |
| Game Name and a one-liner describing your game in one sentence Play It with a link to your submission page Screenshots / Video showing gameplay About the Game sharing what players do and what makes it interesting Built With listing your engine, tools, plugins, or any notable tech How You Made It covering the decisions behind your design and why you made them, the problems you ran into, and how you solved them. If you used Bezi, tell us what role it played and any tips you discovered along the way |
Judged by the Bezi team. This is a standalone competition, separate from the game jam. Show us your best Bezi-related fan art.
๐ THIS JAM'S PROMPT
This jam's fan art prompt stays under wraps until the jam begins. Unlike the game themes, there is no early Discord reveal for this one. Everyone gets it at the same moment, when the jam starts on Friday, October 23. Keep your pencils warm.
