Welcome to The Substitution Jam! Hosted by the very person who brought Vanessa's Substitution to you!

The Substitution Modjam is a Baldi-centered "game" jam, the theme of which is Baldi Baldimore from the hit Indie Game Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning finds some substitute to take his place momentarily. Sound familiar? Submitters must use some form of decompile of Baldi's Basics Classic - NOT Classic Remastered or Plus. Please read this thoroughly for the rules and such.

How will my submission be ranked?

The main thing that will be judged is how original your mod is. That is, what features are completely new, backported from Classic Remastered/Plus, and the list goes on. Do not be lazy and reuse stuff that isn't yours, I have seen one mod too many that reuses assets from things like Foxo's Fun Schoolhouse, very much without any permission from Nicec00lkidd Games.

Here are other things you must consider, as they affect your final rank:

• How likable the Substitute Teacher themself will be will affect your final ranking. This is to say, if Baldi's substitute is an actually good person or a psychopath.
• How fun your mod is to play. If your mod is very original, but the difficulty is stupidly high, It's a recipe for a very disappointing rank.
• The Presentation & Polish of the mod. Of course, no mod is saved by just originality, there also needs to be presentation & how polished the final product is!

What are the rules to this Modjam?

1. The Substitute CANNOT be just some lazy variant of Baldi. (For example: Beldi/SUBSTITUTE from Subterbaldi, BALD_0S, ETC.) You need to substitute the man himself with someone else, not just "baldy but spooky ooo".
2. The original Baldi's Basics cast NEEDS to be there in some shape or form without the need to beat or complete something. While graphical edits are fine (even i did that for Vanessa's Substitution), you CANNOT outright replace the character with someone else, stick to the theme.
3. New characters are allowed, but they cannot be pulled from other sources, for example, Baldi's Basics Multiplayer or other Roblox Baldi games. They gotta be original or pulled from somewhere else with permission.
4. The mod does not necessarily need to replace Null with someone else, but if you do, make sure that he at least has something new to say, or it's a completely new character entirely. (Do note that if it's just NULL Style again without anything new, your originality will get docked.)
5. The mod CANNOT be a bait-n-switch (For Example: BALDI'S BASICS LEARNING, Shipwrecked 64, Happy! the Hippo), and be something else than what was advertized. While the thing changing for NULL Style is acceptable, beating whatever is the equivalent must restore the mod to its original state prior.
6. The mod CANNOT be contain content related to drama, Baldi related or otherwise. Mockery of people like Donald Trump, P. Diddy, or whoever else that deserves scrutiny is fine, but NOT in your submission, those sorts of topics and drama are for discussing elsewhere, not here.
7. While having a team is fine, it cannot be any bigger than 4 people. However, a exception will be provided only IF one of the contributors has not done anything other than the Soundtrack.
   
8. This should be obvious, but, while you CAN conceptualize assets and what not for the project beforehand, ANYTHING related to the code and the playable mod itself MUST start to be made DURING the jam.
