Welcome to the official AUS Fall 2023 Game Jam!

Congratulations on completing the AUS game development course. Now is the time to test your skills in this game jam!

Themes:

• Only One
• Elemental Abilities 
• Break the cycle
• Leave something behind
• Limited time

Rules: 

• This is a one-week jam that starts at 8:00 AM on the 7th of January and ends at 10:00 PM on the 14th of January
• The theme will be announced when the jam starts, and following it will be optional. Use the themes as inspiration
• You may make your own assets or use pre-made assets online. If you choose to use pre-made assets make sure to credit the creators either on the game page or in the game itself
• After the jam is over the AUS Game Development Club members will give your game some care and polishing, and then it will be presented in an event where we will announce the winners
• YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR GAME BEFORE THE DEADLINE, NO EXTRA TIME WILL BE GIVEN!!!!!

Winners: 

Will be announced in person at the event.

The winning categories :

• The Best Game (1st, 2nd,  3rd)
• Players' Choice (Public Voting)

Tips:

• Spend 10% of the time in coming up with the idea, and use the rest of the time to create the game.
• Always prioritize quality over quantity. Instead of making 10 levels, make 3 really well made levels.
• Remember to apply Game Juice principles!
• Don't be afraid to use Google or YouTube if you're not sure on how to implement something
• Everyone from the Game Dev club will be available to help you with anything. So don't be shy, ask us anything!
• Game Jam are also an opportunity to learn new things, so don't be afraid to try new things!
• You can also refer back to the google drive, a Game Development Handout and some short videos are in the works!
• And most importantly, have fun!
