Webinar: COVID-19 - What can cames do? In this webinar 8 interdisciplinary design teams from the Game.Play.Design Aarhus University summer course present what the medium of games have to offer in times of the COVID-19 crisis. Gain new insights into how knowledge about games and COVID-19 can work together and get your hands on 8 playable prototypes for how this knowledge can be unfolded through game design.
In 8 short talks design teams present knowledge on how to use the potentials of games and insights on designing meaningful experiences and interactions in the light of COVID-19. How can games help with feelings of isolation, greate safe havens, getting to grips with COVID-19 or battel selfishness? What are some new and exciting gameplay experiences and interactions we can draw from the COVID-19 crisis? And how can games and game design be utilised to create new understandings and reflections on COVID-19 and how it impacts society, contexts, people and individuals?
The talks are followed by presentation of playable prototypes where participants can try out 8 games that show how this thinking can be unfolded in and through games.
Each talk is 7 minutes followed be a short Q&A from the audience. The webinar ends with a short playsession where participants can try out 1-2 games together with the design teams.
