🕹️ About the Jam

Appsinity Store Jam is a 1-week game jam organised by appsinity.store for indie developers and creators.

Participants must combine Theme 1 and Theme 2 to create a unique game.
Theme 2 will be revealed on the jam start day, adding a fun twist for everyone.

Your goal is to re-imagine classic retro or arcade games using new ideas, modern mechanics, or creative gameplay.



🎯 Theme 1 – Re-imagined Retro / Arcade

Players need to recreate a retro or arcade style game, but with a new twist or modern feature.

You can:

  • Add unique abilities

  • Change the gameplay style

  • Use modern technology or mechanics

  • Transform the concept into something unexpected

Examples

Imagine:

  • Mario but in full 3D exploration

  • Tetris where the player escapes using falling blocks

  • Contra set in ancient times with no guns

Use your imagination and create something unique and fun.



🎭 Theme 2 – To Be Announced

The second theme will be announced on the day the jam starts.

This theme will introduce a special gameplay restriction or mechanic that must be combined with Theme 1.

Participants must combine Theme 1 and Theme 2 when creating their game.

Judging Period:
1 April – 11 April

Winners Announced:
11 April - 12:01 PM IST 


📦 Requirements

  • Join our Discord server and get the Game Jam role

  • Use any game engine

  • Submit a playable demo before the deadline

📜 Rules

  • Games must be created during the jam period

  • You can work solo or in a team

  • Any engine or tool is allowed

  • Assets must be your own or free-to-use (with proper credit)

  • AI generated assets are allowed

Submissions must be playable (web build preferred).

The game must also be uploaded on https://appsinity.store



⚖️ Judge Voting System

There will be 6 judges.

Each judge will:

  • Play all submitted games

  • Rate them based on the judging criteria

The final ranking will be based on the average score across all judges.



🧠 Judging Criteria

Theme 1

How well the game re-imagines a retro / arcade concept.

Theme 2

How well the game implements the second theme mechanic.

Gameplay & Stability

Quality of gameplay, mechanics, and how stable / bug-free the game is.

Creativity

Originality of the concept, mechanics, and design.

Visual & Audio Design

Graphics, art style, sound effects, and music integration.
