THE THEME IS: Christmas Shopping

Ah the frantic Christmas shopping of someone who is a little bit late...

Here are some examples for the theme: 

A visual novel about a disastrous Christmas shopping experience and the Christmas party that follows.

A hectic shopping game that takes place in a crowded supermarket on Christmas Eve.

A chill Christmas Party planning game where the player takes commissions to make fun parties under a budget with festive holiday theme.

You do NOT have to adhere to any of theme examples or even the theme itself. They are just ideas to get help encourage creativity.

Hey everyone! Tis the Christmas season, so it's the perfect time to make a game! This is a 48hr game jam hosted by the Anime_IRL discord's gamedev club. The jam will be ranked on three categories: Fun, Visuals, and Polish. While it is ranked, keep in mind this jam is overall a casual jam to have fun and improve skills!

RULES

• No NSFW content - no nudity, hateful visuals, hateful language, or excessive gore.
• Teams of any size are allowed.
• The majority of the game must be made within the specified time period.
• You may use pre-made assets.
• You do not need to adhere to the theme, it is merely a suggestion. If you have a cool, small game idea and want to execute it despite it not fitting the theme, go ahead!

IMPORTANT DATES

• December 17th at 6PM eastern is the starting date for the jam and the theme announcement.
• December 19th at 6PM eastern is the ending date for the jam's submissions.
• December 24th at 6PM eastern is when voting is finished.

Unfinished work is highly encouraged. Didn't finish in time but you have something to show? May as well upload it. You could even get some constructive criticism on how to improve what little you have made, if you want!
