Here's a recap from last time!

Ecaroh’s Alchemy Jam is a laid-back jam which encourages you to recycle bits & pieces from your previous projects and transform them into something new!

This jam revolves around a unique pixel art asset created by the host and voted on by the community!

This is a quarterly jam held on the 23rd every 3 months, and runs for 8 days – each jam will have a different starting day of the week, but is guaranteed to cover at least one weekend.

Rebuild, remix, reimagine!

▪ You may reuse art and code from previous projects.
Please include a list of your starting ingredients with your jam submission.

▪ Feature the theme asset in your game.

▪ Third-party assets are allowed with proper credits. AI may assist you in generating concept art and finding code solutions, but not in creating final artwork, including thumbnails.

▪ You may gather your resources ahead of time, but development starts when the jam begins. Brainstorm and sketch as much as you like before then!

▪ Work solo or team up!

▪ No NSFW content, extreme violence, or any form of discrimination.
Aim for an ESRB rating of “E” for "Ecaroh’s Innocence is Preserved” :)

Q: Any requirements for our game engine?

A : Use any game engine or framework you want, as long as it can be uploaded to itch.io for us to play!
Web builds are highly recommended.

Q: Do I have to make it a pixel art game with the theme asset?

A: You can remake the jam's pixel art asset in any style you want!
Just make sure it's still recognizable as the theme asset.

Q: Do I have to start my game from scratch?

A: Remakes and remixes are allowed, but so is fairness to other participants — The spirit of this jam is for your codebase and existing assets to be a springboard to creativity, not just a shortcut to the finish line. ✨

Q: Do I have to make a remix from old projects?

A: Nope! It's not a requirement. It's merely an option you're allowed to take for this jam.✨ If you're new to game dev and making your first game, stop by the discord if you need any help getting started!
