AFTERWORDS: The Death Jam

The FAR HORIZONS COOP are currently running a crowdfunding campaign to raise money to produce and print AFTERWORDS: The Far Horizons Guide to Death, an anthology of short games and essays around the subject and themes of death. This campaign is running until Friday 13th September at 11:59pm BST.

But we thought, surely we shouldn't have all the fun. That's not what we do at FHC.

For the next eight weeks, make and publish your own short analogue game on the subject of death. It could be a tabletop game, a board game, a larp or larp-like, a card game, a parlour game, or whatever! So long as it somehow relates to the subject of death in tabletop roleplaying games. We'd love to see what you have in mind! Let us know!

(Also to be honest feel free just to add any games you already have that are about death! The morbid the merrier!)

Here's what's in the AFTERWORDS anthology, just to give you some inspiration:

  • Farewell, My Heart by Jessica Marcrum, about the will-they-won't-they relationship between a dying person and their caregiver
  • Shadow Market by Poorna M, about burying shadows in the foundations of houses, and an implied exchange of good fortune...
  • Charon Rails by Keith Asada, about being a psychopomp in the afterlife industrial complex
  • Upon the Digital Sea by Jeremy Borders, about digital communities, relationships, and digital memorials

We'll repost any messages we see about games, and also post a little something about each one we see added to the jam. Just let us know your socmed handles when you submit!

Afterwords: The Far Horizons Guide to Death

Yes this jam is shameless advertising. Yes I still think you should make your cool game. No this position is not negotiable.
