AestheticJam is a jam series where each jam focuses on a different aesthetic to create games based on. This jam will focus on the Labcore aesthetic.
What is Labcore?
Labcore is a mad scientist aesthetic. It combines science academia with elements of Vaporwave. It is characterized by lab coats, iridescent clothing, glass tubes, star maps, and the colors green and purple. Labcore values chaotic morality and OSHA violations in the lab environment. Star maps, glowing slime, and smoking liquids in glass beakers are all part of Labcore.
Imagine Dr. Frankenstein creating his creature, but instead of his classic Dark Academia style, the mad doctor is wearing a neon Hawaiian shirt, popping energy drinks left and right, and jamming to Lemon Demon while he creates an abomination against nature in the basement.
It's chaotic. It's irreverent. It never stopped to think if it should, only if it could.
