ACM Games Academy Summer JAM 2023

Welcome to the event! This year's theme is:

'It's not a bug, it's a feature'

This game jam is open to both our students on the BA (Hons) Games Development and Futures degree and the Game Development Diploma, as well as the public!

About the Game Jam

You can work individually or in small teams to develop a game that will be uploaded onto Itch.io for your team’s submission. The submitted game can be developed in any game engine, supporting software, and programming language of choice. However, the submitted game must be built for Windows.

FAQs

When does it start?

The game jam starts on Monday, 14th August, and will run until Friday, 18th.

Who can enter?

The game jam is open to the public, current and future students at ACM.

Who judges the submissions?

ACM Staff, students, and the public can all vote on the submissions.

How do the submissions get judged?

All submissions are judged on three points: Fun, Originality, and Presentation.

Can game assets be used?

The submissions should be made primarily within the ACM Games Academy Summer JAM 2023. However, participants are welcome to use any game assets they have legal access to.

What is the theme for the game jam?

The theme will be revealed prior to the start on the 14th of August.

How do I submit a game?

Upload your game onto itch.io, make sure the project is set to “released”, then visit this page and press “submit game”.

Additional Rules

• Submitted games must not require additional external software for users to download.
• Submitted games must not require users to need additional hardware.
• Games should not be offensive or contain inappropriate content.
