A month-long art, game and design jam celebrating monochromatic dithered artwork, inspired by 6x4 inch label printed.
I'm Brian, I run the ttrpg publishing imprint Dungeons on a Dime, and in August I got myself a GK420D Zebra label printer. It's a chunky and robust device, capable of vomiting out up to 30 labels a minute at 230DPI.
It produces a deliciously crunchy image, with dot-matrix dithering that reminds me of old GameBoy screens. This month, I want to play with what it can produce, making all sorts of game supplements that I can print out and put in with orders from my store.
Week 1 - Locations. Where is the story set? How many challenges or dangers lie ahead?
Week 2 - Characters. Who can help or hinder the players, and why do they want to tangle with them?
Week 3 - Encounters. What lurks in the dark, in the deep, round the bend and in the blindspot of the sun?
Week 4 - Sorceries. Which magics, technologies, smokes and steams are bubbling away for the players to find or fall prey to?
Anyone can take part, at any time. Jump in partway through, make a single submission, or send in as many images as you want!

Social Media. Share your stuff everywhere! Tag me on Twitter or Instagram (@DungeonsOnADime) so I can share it, and use the hashtag #6by4TTRPG to find each other online.
Collating. I'll be combining all submissions that follow the Safety Policy into a big label-maker ready PDF, available for free on Itch. This file will be released with a Creative Commons license (Attribution, Non-Commercial, Share-Alike). You keep all copyright to your work, forever.
Monochromatic artwork has lent itself to grimdark and OSR-scene games. While my own style features chunky line art and black shading, this jam is open to all styles and genres of content. Want to make an interplanar spaceship? Blast off, babe. Hankering for a deep-sea adventure? Dive in, dude.
6x4'' is roughly the same size as A5 paper, and monotone is perfect for quick zine-making, or for developing further into risograph prints. One of each prompt would fit on a single sheet of A4, so you could connect each image to make a larger poster. 8 prompts would make a cool fold-up zine, and 16 would make a double-sided zine.
Don't sweat it, I'll be regularly printing submissions and sharing them on Twitter, tagging you with the info in your file.
Safety Policy. Any submissions involving harmful or abusive content (such as homophobia, racism, sexism, transphobia or terfism, tory-sympathising, anti-vaccine nonsense or other dickish-ness) will be removed from the jam.
