Theme:
The theme of this jam is:
The pain we cause.
We all cause great pain. To others, the environment and ourselfs. Sometimes we try to make up for it, sometimes we don't. There is no life without suffering. You could try to make up for it and seek redemption or make things worse.
You are free to interpret this however you like.
Lifeform of this jam:
The lifeform of this edition is Bathynomus vaderi.
Bathynomus vaderi is a species of giant isopod. It lives deep underwater. It is one of the most recent discovered animals that has been named. It lives in parts of the Pacific ocean including around the Clarion-Clipperton Zone. Recently there have been many species of animals found in this regon, over 800. The only species with an offical name at the time of making this jam is the Darth Vader gaint isopod: Bathynomus vaderi. Many of these species are at risk of endangerment or extinction because of mineral mining in the area. Some of these species are very important to the ecosystems in earth. Most of these species unlike the Darth Vader gaint isopod only live in this area. Due to mining in this area 30-40% of animals left the parts of CCZ where mining is taking place. Species like coral there are unable to survive the machines and changes to the seafloor. The damage done to the seafloor in this area can take thousands of years to restore and there are risks of a large part of biodiversity dissapearing.
You are free to interpret this any way you like. This is not a criteria that your game will be judged on.
This jam is practice your skills and get feedback on your games. You are encouraged to leave helpfull feedback on other submissions. Avoid hurtfull comments as this jam is meant to encourage game devs.
Good luck and have fun!!!!!!!!
