Welcome to the 2D Side Scroller Jam!
Your mission: create the most fun, creative, and engaging side-scrolling game in the spirit of the classics like Super Mario Bros.. Any theme is welcome — from horror to run-and-gun to whimsical adventure — as long as it’s a side scroller.

🕹️ Rules & Requirements

• Game Type: Must be a 2D side scroller.

• Engines Allowed: Unity, Unreal, or any other engine is welcome.

• Assets: No AI-generated images allowed. Hand-made, purchased, or free assets are fine.

• Code Sharing: Open source is encouraged (but not required).

• Theme: Completely open — horror, retro, sci-fi, action, puzzle, or whatever inspires you.

• Scope: Keep it playable! Small, fun, and polished is better than big and incomplete.

• 1st Place: $20 PayPal credit

• 2nd Place: $10 PayPal credit

• 3rd Place: (TBD — could be community vote "honorable mention" or small gift card)

👥 Judging

• Voting will be community-based.
  Everyone who submits a game is expected to play each other’s entries and vote!

• Games will be rated on:

  1. Fun & Gameplay – Is it enjoyable and engaging?

  2. Creativity – Unique mechanics, story, or theme.

  3. Polish – Presentation, audio, visuals, and overall completeness.

📌 Notes

• Multiplayer is allowed but not required.

• Jokes, memes, and silly entries are welcome — just make sure they’re playable.

• Please respect itch.io community guidelines.
