1Up Jam is back for its 7th anniversary! From 31st of May to the 21st June, the very last GDS meeting for this academic year. We will meet before, during, and after the jam on Discord: http://bit.ly/GDS_DISCORD Now that we're exam-free, lets make a game! There will be a theme announced at the beginning of the jam that everyone should follow to create something unique and fun. You have 3 weeks. You can work solo or in teams of however many you want.

Charity

As is tradition, the 1-UP jam supports a charity. Our chosen charity for this year, Get Well Gamers, is a charity that gives children in hospitals game consoles. Being in hospitals can be a lonely and scary experience, especially for young people, but playing games can provide much needed relief. Get Well Gamers accepts monetary donations as well as any old game consoles you may have.

  • Creativity: How well does the game fit into the jam theme? What is unique?
  •  Atmosphere: Visuals, audio, textures, lighting, anything!
  • Mechanics: How suitable and engaging the implemented game mechanics and how do they make the gameplay fun.
  • Fun: Is your game fun?
  • Polish: Does the game have bugs? A nice UI? Additional gameplay effects? Does it feel polished, smooth, or even juicy?
