It's spring! You know what that means? 
HawkZombie is going to host a jam that ISN'T horror themed! Welcome to the May-gration Jam!

This is the first of a new annual game jam I'll be hosting, a fun play on the word migration. The other fun part is this also coincides with the 35th anniversary of the world-renowned Dragon Quest series! Many say this directly influenced the creation and popularity of the RPG Maker engine. So, the theme for this first spring time jam is going to be:

Quest Redefined

The group of adventures seeking the MacGuffin. A hero's journey to fulfill their destiny. Something as simple as saving a life. A quest is many, many things. However, just a regular quest can be boring. The purpose of this jam is to take those tried and true tropes and put your own, unique twist on them! Turn the Hero's Journey upside down. Who needs MacGuffins, anyway?! Heck, even something as abstract as what YOU think a quest actually is. Give it your best shot!

The jam will run from 10am May 12th to 10am May 26th. That's two weeks to put together a game that you feel best represents what YOU think a quest should be, or how you would remake those tropes to be fresh and unique.

There are no prizes; this is just for fun. Voting will be open to the public right after the jam ends, and will be open for 1 week. HawkZombie will stream all entries LIVE on his twitch channel after the jam has ended (but before voting has).

RULES

1. The game must be no longer than 45 minutes.
2. The game must be Twitch/YouTube appropriate.
3. The game must be worked on during the jam time ONLY. Existing/unfinished prior projects are not allowed
4. Any game engine can be used.
5. No copywritten/ripped materials, please.
6. This goes without saying, but no homophobic, bigoted, racist, or otherwise deplorable content.
