Welcome to the 3rd 1904labs Game Jam!

Theme: Fortress!!

You will have one week to create and submit a game, from May 27th (3:10PM central time) to June 02nd (7:00PM central time).

Rules/Guidelines:

  • Anything goes as long as it sticks to the theme!
    • Use any tools you'd like to build your game
      • Examples include: Unity, Unreal, Godot, PyGame, in-browser, custom, Blender , Aseprite,  MS Paint, etc.
    • 2D and 3D are both fair game.
    • Free/Public assets are fine to use, but you're encouraged to make your own.
      • When using other assets make sure you follow any usage rights associated with them.
    • Your game must be free!
  • You must submit your game before June 2nd at 5PM central time.
  • Submissions are hidden until the jam is over. If you want to keep your game a secret, this lets you do that without waiting until the last second to submit. You're free to tell everyone what you're working on, though!
  • We will have presentations after the Jam on June 3rd
  • This jam is private to 1904labs, and will not show up publicly in itch.io.

Submissions:

When you're ready to submit your game you must first create a "project" on itch.io. After you've created/uploaded your project you can then return to this page and submit it.

To create a project, click on the dropdown next to your username in itch.io, and select "Upload New Project". This will take you to a wizard that will allow you to upload your game as well as provide details.

You don't need to worry about uploading your project right away, but make sure you set aside some time before the deadline to go through the process. Submissions close on June 2nd at 5PM central time!

Presentation:

Presentations will be held Friday June 3rd (meeting pending).

Each participant should stick to around 8 minutes, and try to adhere to this format:

  1. What's the name and premise of your game?
  2. What tech did you use?
  3. How did you come up with the idea/what were your inspirations?
  4. What did you learn (maybe unexpectedly) while working on this game?
  5. What would you do differently if you had to remake this game?
  6. Q&A

These should be the points you touch on before/during showing your game. This is flexible, but please try to stick to around the time limit so everyone has a chance to show off what they've been working on! (this is also subject to change, it's still over a week out).

Possible themes (theme will be selected from this list):

  1. Parallel Worlds
  2. Stuck in a Loop
  3. Fortress
  4. Running Out Of Time
  5. Island
  6. Falling
