This jam is now over. It ran from 2020-09-18 19:00:00 to 2020-09-24 19:00:00. View 6 entries

EDIT : Submissions are being left open on Itch for a few more days

The Alakajam! competitions let people make a video game from scratch, in a week-end, then play and rate each other!

Unlike most jams, Alakajam host its events on its own website (which is open source btw). This lets us do unique things like gamify theme voting, let people submit high scores on the game pages, and even host gaming competitions on jam entries!

๐Ÿง™โ€โ™€๏ธ Joining the event

IMPORTANT: Entries will have to be submitted to Alakajam's website!

This Itch.io event will still be open in sync with the website, to let all the itch users tag their game as part of the jam. The game ratings phase will however take place on alakajam.com, so in order to be part of the competition you'll have to create a game entry there.

๐Ÿง™ Event schedule

Teams or solo devs, beginners and professionals are all welcome to participate. There are two ways to approach the event:

  • Enter the competitive jam (Solo/Team division) and make your game from nothing, to be ranked against every other contestant.
  • If you prefer a more relaxed setting, maybe even want to work on your current long-term project, the Unranked division will give you an opportunity to get plays and comments, while discarding the restrictive rules.

After the end of the jam, some of the best games of the jam will be handpicked for a 3 day gaming competition! (See a previous event for an example)
