Welcome to the 2023/24 Game Making Deathmatch!
This is utGDDC's biggest event of the year. You've got two months to put together a game that will be put in front of a panel of judges from industry and academia! Bring your A game!

You can interpret this however you like! Get creative with it!

Rules:
- All used assets (code, art, music/media, etc.) must be your own work, OR publically available for free (don’t buy assets and don’t use anything that’s copyrighted).
- You may not submit a game started before December 1st, 2023, but you may use assets or code from your own previous projects.
- Your game must run on a modern windows or macOS version, or on a modern browser.
Teams may consist of up to 4 people.
Judging & Criteria:
A panel of judges composed of both professional and non-professional game developers will review the submissions and decide the top three overall games, in addition to a winner for each category.
The judging categories are:
- Overall
- Gameplay Mechanics, Controls, and UI
- Art: Visual Design & Aesthetics
- Theme: Interpretation and application of the provided theme
- Sound & Music: Sound Design, Scoring
- Technical Achievement
- Originality & Creativity
