This is so beautifully written, sometimes stories can be a bit challenging to visualize, but the way you describe every intricate detail is soooo good that I feel like I can visualize everything! And my gosh the interaction between the characters is amazing to the point where I struggle to pick which route I want to play (i'm playing all routes mind you), but I'm pretty sure i spent at least 10 minutes trying to decide who i wanted to romance next. Thank you for writing this and I'm excited to see where this goes!!

THEY KISSED?!! holy spirits i'm a sucker for good old kissing scene and i was honestly thinking that i want my crown and X to kiss but figured it was still too early they aren't even official yet but then they kissed??! and that was PERFECT?! like, the author didn't just slap down "and then they kissed" but it was so beautifully described and stretched out to the right amount it left me satisfied and wanting more at the same time aaahhhh i'm gonna combust-
This is absolutely AMAZING The customization, the characters, the writing, the STORYLINE???? A THOUSANDTIMES AMAZING. I also love that you can change the fonts, really helps with my poor reading skills.

I've been really looking forward to this update to the point I put it on my calender but when I updated my game it wouldnt let me play it. It took me to the folder it downloaded and I'm not sure what to do, I've been having the same issue with another game on here called The Bastard of Camelot but I was able to play it through my browser, however it won't let me plat A Tale of Crowns at all.
hey cherry idk if u know this but there's a bug in the game that makes it impossible for me to do anyone but R's route. yeah right after they say "you found me" it's like something bugs out and forces the player to fall in love with them. no need to fix it though, just thought i'd give a heads up.
lol but seriously i love this game so so much. i love the magic system, i love the characters, and i ADORE how much variation there is. contrary to my joke, i actually did end doing another playthrough for A's route and they have me and the crown equally smitten. thank you so much for creating such a rich and interesting world and sharing it with us (and for FREE!!!)

I wonder if the mother is actually alive? Unless I skipped over it, MC did say that she didn't see her mother die or her body.. also I take it (at least for the female version) that X is bi? As my MCs are lesbian and FemX has it off with farmer boy at end of the current chapter - scratch that just read the FAQ.

Follow this guide posted by the author on their tumblr. You have to have enough points with one or two ROs for their route to be unlocked and for them to appear as options (the option that you choose is going to be the RO route you are locked to).

I get some locked dialogue options during diplomatic conversations, I'm feeling I'm gonna get a bad ending. T_T . Spoilers and questions below . . . . . . Somehow someone always dies, no matter my choices so far. Is there a way to save everyone and not "fail"? I'm kinda suspecting there isn't a way to please everyone, perhaps we should always only focus on one and that defines what kind of ruler we are?
if the ones dying are the assassins, I don't know the way (if there's any) to prevent it. but if it's the magus or anyone else, then I do know. I DON'T claim the steps I did as the perfect one, but at least I managed to avoid any major character death :")
I always choose to prioritize the public, be wary of the nobles, and just be kind but still cautious of the peris. however, this will result in one locked dialogue in court scene. so it's still flawed, but I don't think it's a complete failure lol still trying to find the perfect steps tho

I celebrated with public and nobles, having the security spread out through both events. had the would be (laughable) assassin stay in the palace dungeon. Only one who died was the assassin. Magus and Enzo was injured.
oh those are the exact steps I always do too! in which resulted Ezo got her arm broken and the magus got minor injuries. but I read on AToC Tumblr that that's the middle outcome. there's the best outcome where both Ezo and the magus are unharmed. so yeah, still trying to find the way to reach that outcome ^^

I am absolutely in love with this. Coming from a South Asian culture it's wonderful to see more fantasy that is not simply western or far eastern in influence, and is giving me hope to complete my own 'poc fantasy/sci fi' twine games as well.

for X, they don't like it when we're being pushy. e.g. when they want to leave, then don't ask them to stay. instead be understanding and let them go.
for D, it's the complete opposite. when they wish to leave, show them our reluctance to let them go.
for A, I had a smooth sailing relationship, so I can't really remember if I encountered any problems. just be understanding and things will be good.
now, I just finished playing R route and I'm crying. our relationship was unsteady and I didn't manage to fix it even after reaching the end of chapter 10. so I can't offer any help for this one (yet). so sorryyyy
if you're still having any difficulties with X/D/A route, just let me know! I'll retrace my steps for their routes and show you which choices to choose. good luck! :D
hey!! for R route i think you mainly gotta show trust in them. i also think you gotta tell them to find the truth about the thing with their mentor,, dunno if thats what mightve been getting you bad on their route or not, but for me that was the only thing messing me up
my crown told R to find closure on my first play through and they stopped using their usual "my crown" right after and I was in PAIN

don't trust the peri princess but don't be hostile either, just be cautious
ask why they haven't visited the soldier who tried to assassinate us
when they bow, allow them
tell them both them and their parent weren't at fault
the unsteady stat might still appear for a moment, but as long as you do all of the above, and then choose to ask when will we see them again when they're leaving (instead of wishing them well), you'll be good ^^

Honestly i cant emphasise how good and immersive the writing style is. the story is honestly so engaging and interesting.
Though i wish there was an easier way to change a few choices to test its outcome as rn you have to go through the entire thing over and over and over again to try out different combinations and the process is a bit brain numbing i will admit
I need some help, is there a guide or anything on what choices lead to what outcome? I've found that one option saves the scholar mage, but others die, and there's earlier options that can save them too, but you don't get the approval of the noble general. Is there a way to save everyone while gaining her approval? It hurts my heart knowing people died because of me qxq

It's definitely possible!! Check the walkthrough, you can unlock each of the love interest's scenes (though you can only get a maximum of 3 names to show up at the end of CH4).
Hi! I played the available chapters, maybe, three times during this weekend? I love the story so far! I love the romance, I love the politics, I love the way the dialogues changes depending on the stats. Every run is different from the other, and this is awesome!
I just finished the available D(ara) route and I have found this typo in the very last scene, during the chat with the Peri princess:
"As soon as his has completed his mission (...)"
And that's it. Love this game.
Tomorrow I will try the A route, it's the only one I have yet to try but I just know it will be juicy lol

One thing that I find difficult is the choices consequences and some hidden stats like the relationship with the public and with the nobles. It keeps saying I hadn't prioritised the public enough during the law office choice, even though I told about possible security breach before the coronation.
A simple suggestion I'd give is to show relationship choices consequences in a notification, like: "relationship with the public -2"
Okie, Xelef is killing me rn with that last chapter, feel so betrayed after choosing him as my love interest that he'd put me in a position like that attacking people without any consideration. AND not even reply to my letters, the audacity he has.
foaming at the mouth i love this game sososososo much!!! the writing is brilliant, the characters are dynamic and lovable, and the world building is intricate- yet understandable! it is quite literally a masterpiece of a game.

often has to do with cookie enabling and browser settings, bc it works for me just fine. and there's no download version for tale of crowns as of now.

The unsteady relationship with D’s route only started when I got into the part where the MC needs to attend the imperial court. Idk what I did wrong 😭
here's what I did in D route

That last part is due to your Crown having a low romance with X. If you actually make the right romance choices, X will send letters back ;)
