I have some ideas for the game if you would like to hear them:
1. In the room with a large clock, near Bowser's final level, you must solve a clockwise puzzle, but if you fail, the clock will chime, alerting Peach ghost.
2. In the infinite stairs area, it could be the same, if you don't get all the trophies, the stairs will be endless, and they could also make noise to alert Peach ghost, and where are the Peach paintings on the stairs, when these are endless, that they see the photo of Peach ghost.
3. In the area of the second level, where there is water and the entrances to the levels of fire and desert, there is an area with water, there could be a hidden ghost eel, which will stalk you, you notice it because the water will move where this is and you must get out of the water before it catches you.
4. I have an idea for the third level area, the corridor where the pictures of the water and mushroom levels are, where the doors to the large and small levels are, and the room with the mirrors. There could be ghosts of Toads, who haunt you like the Boos, and like the weeping angels of Doctor Who: that is, they follow you if you turn your back on them, but if you see them they stay put.
5. Why does Mario go to the castle? Maybe someone sent him a letter of help, it could be Toadsworth or Luigi, the princess has him trapped somewhere and if you collect all the statues you will free him and Peach ghost will rest in peace, and if it is Luigi who you rescue, he could appear at the fountain in the backyard, where the statue that says "L is real" is.
6. I have a theory that Mario couldn't save Peach after she was kidnapped and that's why she died, and that's why he hunts Mario: for revenge. So you could face her after getting all the statues in the same battlefield where you face Bowser for the last time, with a star shape, and while being chased he must collect star pieces that will hit Peach, and repeat that 3 times until that her soul is appeased, she forgives Mario, and the soul of the princess finally rests in peace.
7. The last idea is that there could be power-ups, some mushrooms, that keep Mario's stamina full for just a few seconds.
Ok I read all of them and they are pretty good! I already had some of them in mind and you'll be able to see them on the next update, so we'll see if you like how I've implemented them lol
It always happens. There should be an option that says more info or something and then you can open the game anyway. (My pc isn't in english so I'm not 100% sure)

I believe Windows keeps track of how many times any given times software runs on their operating system, and after seeing a program get run so many times across the world it gets comfortable. But at first it will display warnings to users.
- in general, new monster (or a quirk about peach develops) per section of castle?
-The water in the basement, something DEFINILTY has to be done with that. Like maybe it floods suddenly. or alerts some unwanted attention.
- the eel comes for you if you go in water. Perhaps a star powerup lets you swim fast enough to evade it and reach another section?
-you know the haunted piano with teeth? would be funny if something else in the castle did that out of nowhere.
- dark mario comes from mirror room, maybe acting as your reflection at first, but then the AI takes over and it gets a mind of its own and slowly starts walking towards you?
-dry dry bones spawn somewhere in castle field protecting a statuette. Not a main threat, but they slowly walk towards you as a group outside until you get indoors and its kinda unnerving. Maybe unexpectedly, mario encounters them again behind a door and they resume their chase.
- some of the paintings have hands come out and reach for you if you get too close? A spooky scare at first, then mechanically turns into a "you have to risk running to get past this safely " area
They're all good ideas and I'm already working on some of them, such as the eel and having more enemies. I'll have to see if I'm gonna be able to implement some of the others; maybe with some minor changes
Don't feel pressure! I was just spitballing since I felt inspired. I love that your adding the eel since so many people said that was scary growing up haha. I wasn't one of them, the most scary thing in the game for me was the wierd door designs of the haunted mansion paired with spooky music.
this game was truly terrifying, the confined space of the castle made for an uncomfortable gameplay experience and there was never a time I felt safe. The scare could be scarier of course, thats my one critique but other than that, an awesome experience (Gameplay starts at 1:13)

tf happened to peach? y'know what i don't care i'm just gonna make some random theroy that peach died 2 weeks ago, she haunts her own castle, and hates mario for not protecting her.
This is a really nice horror game! I cant wait to see what updates and things you add to the game! Its pretty silly. There are some problems such as the jumpscares being weak and how you just collect stattuettes and then hide whilst peach roams around. But over its a nice game! Anyways get this game before nintendo kills it.
Even though I haven't beat it yet, I can say that the game is really fun and enjoyable.
One thing I'm having problems with is the corridor to the back of the castle. It's so long that when Peach is chasing after me I run out of stamina way too quickly.
It was enjoyable! My only possible criticism is the stretch between the garden and the main part of the castle can rely a bit on luck, being very difficult to escape if she happens to head that way.
This is truly amazing as a demo and I'm looking forward to the full release. "Peach" had me freaked out while I was trying to sneak around the castle. Awesome job Dev!
If this demo is anything to go by, then the full version of this game will be sick! I love how you nailed the graphics and the sound, and the atmosphere was spot on and top quality! I loved this. This is my 2nd attempt at finishing the whole demo, I hope you enjoy it!
This was SUPER fun and I can't wait to see what all gets added to the game in the future! I know game development takes a while. Especially if you're a solo developer, but it'd be cool to see perhaps multiplayer in the future, say if the castle gets expanded to the full thing or something x3 Or possibly VR Support. Overall good game and I had a blast playing! (: Keep it up!

I can't start the game.... gives an error "the program has stopped working"another princess is in our castle" .I tried as administrator, just open, no way. please tell me how to start the game :-(
Idk what it could be... Did you try reinstalling it? The game starts with a fade in on the main menu, but I'm not sure what causes the black screen to not fade away
At first I though maybe the hiding in the chest thing and still getting caught was a bug of some sort but then I quickly realized the mechanics of the game require you to hide from peach before she enters it and she doesn't take notice of you because, once you lock eyes with her she will find you its basically an automatic L

when i try to open the game windows tells me it contains files which will damage my pc and wont let me open it

the laptop is weak, but games like assassin's creed pulls. I start the game, the cursor from the game is visible, but the screen is black

You can still hide from Peach after she sees you, but I messed up on the 0.1.3 version lol. I fixed that bug on the 0.1.4 version
