To be frank while I can see some of the reasoning the attitude given by the devs over the android version is making me not want to bother.
Sure some people are asses over it but the devs and their defenders are no better and just make it look worse on the game. Especially with how unprofessional the devs are going about it.

For anyone complaining, There's no way you a grown ass person couldn't get $5 to pay for the android version. It's not even that much. This price is good and I hope these big babies stop whining. Keep up the good work!
The biggest issue isn't people in the USA not having $5. It's people in other regions, where $5 has a lot more buying power. Hence why a lot of the people complaining also have poorer English. English isn't their first language. (I'm seeing a lot of Brazilians, and I've seen a few Russians, a Ukrainian, and a Turk.)

2. You get latest features that are also only available to paying members on Subscriberstar
and just leave the whole stupid "you should have $5" out of it, especially as for several people have stated that $5USD skyrockets prices in poorer countries. I don't know how itch.io works, but many developers lower prices in other countries because of this issue. Stellaris ($40), for example, only costs $3.81 in Argentina, $4.25 in Turkey, and $10.85 in Russia in order to adjust to the purchasing power of each nation and their currencies.
We did say points 1 and 2 in other posts. And we cannot change the costs per country, so yes that's very unfortunate as the greater finical markets are in flux, and hopefully we can make it up in the future.

I think its nice that there are free versions. I get to try out the game and when I feel like it I can pay to support. Thats kind of what this website is about.

I saw the bulletin board note with the vending machine mentioning buying stuff. Given I can't seem to interact with the machine, I'd assume the answer is "not yet" but I figured I'd ask just to be sure.
So i bought it and I accidentally put the wrong zip code and clicked purchase and it took my money but I never received the download file or never received the email saying I bought it. but I did receive a confirmation of the purchase through my banking app.

You will have to email Itch support for any payment support, but I would also double check the payment went though and that you can't download it.
