This was quite a lot of fun :)
Loved the artstyle, and the gameplay.

I had some problems with the controls. Using a controller didn't work for aiming.
Also when aiming with the mouse, it never seemed to aim at where I was pointing. It was always about 10 degrees off.

Here are some ideas to flesh this more out:
- Give the player at least a highscore to motivate him to keep on playing. (e.g. Zombiecount + Time survived?)
- If you want to make this competitive maybe add an online scoreboard to it as well.
- Maybe add some zombie variants to this so it doesn't get stale after playing for 10 minutes.

Thanks for the input!

With the input, everything was fine until we merged our Mouse and Joystick control scripts. After that the mouse aiming had that weird offset. I'd like to figure out that issue too, because it's definitely a frustrating part of the gameplay.

โ€ข I'm definitely going to implement some sort of Kill Count and Time Survived soon.

โ€ข An online leader board would also be very interesting, and it's something I'd like to look into if I were to flesh this project out.

โ€ข Zombie variants would also be nice. At the very least I'd want a visual variation in the zombies(different skins), but I definitely agree that other zombie types (slow but strong, fast but weaker,  etc.) would for sure help with the playability overall.

But, yeah, thanks again for the input! It's definitely appreciated!

I couldn't actually play this as a twin stick. Using a controller, movement worked, but I couldn't aim at all, aside from being able to do a 180 with the dpad. I was able to play with the mouse, though aiming did feel a bit wonky. That aside though, good game! I wasn't sure if there was an end, I did eventually just quit. But I'm a big fan of this kind of genre.

Thanks! We didn't really come up with an end condition, so it's sort of a just endless horde survival thing.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of gamepad were you using? I was only able to test with what I had on hand(Dualshock 4), so there may be something about how I set it up for my controller that doesn't work with others.

And, is there anything you think could be added to this game to improve it? I'd like to at least get the main mechanics finished, and add the second level back in, but any suggestions on how to improve it(especially from someone who enjoys this genre) would be pretty helpful. Thanks.

I was using a 360 controller. If you're going to continue working on it, feel free to let me know when you update it, and I'll test it with my controller again.

Well, something quick that could be added is your score after dying, so there's incentive to replay. Your time alive and/or zombies killed.  Ideally also keeping track of your top score.

I also found it to be a bit too easy, I only took damage once I intentionally stopped to do so. The zombies attack animation hitting home faster would be a good change. As it stands, I was in a position of "how long do I want to play this?" rather than "how long can I survive?" I was completely surrounded a few times, and just walked through the horde without taking a hit.
