Solid game. You could make the puzzles more complicated by picking up your body and needing to move it before switching. I just started using Aseprite and I hope to make art half as good as yours one day. :D

I like ghost games, and the programs you used to make them. the mechanics are interesting and make all the elements match the limitation. you did a good job here :)

Thanks ^^

Pretty nice little game and a great concept. I really like how there are platforms that appear only when the characters are alive and ones that appear when they are dead. I also like the pixel art and the particle effects on the circle things. There are two things I would like to point out firstly the music feels a little repetitive and would get annoying after a while.  This would mainly be the problem I feel though if the game was bigger and had more levels. The second thing is that in the last level if when you are the ghost you can get stuck between the two walls making you have to refresh the page and restart the game to get out. It is just something that is a little annoying and could easily be fixed by changing the levels design a little bit or you could add a way to restart a specific level.  Overall though the game was great and really enjoyed it.

That's all of my feedback, I hope it could be of some use. If you don't mind If looking at my game and giving it some feedback would be greatly appreciated (don't normally ask, but find haven't had anyone really rate or give feedback, and getting feedback is the most important thing to me).

Developer

Sure! Thanks for your feedback. Yeah i already know that you can get stuck in the LAST level of the game (How unlucky) i will def fix that if i decide to continue this game. And for the music; I just made it that way is because it was at the very end of the Jam and i had no time anymore :c

But i am very glad you liked my game ^^

Very nice game, smart mechanics. I was a bit confused by the fact that when you reach the last level and finish it, you are back to the first one though. Pretty sure you could do some interesting things throwing your dead body to push buttons or activate things to unlock stuff for when you're a ghost.

Developer

Yeah i thought about it but i had to cut a LOT of stuff sadly °^°

What a great concept!!! puzzle platformer is hard to make as solid as your game

Developer(+1)

Ay thanks ^^

Just a question.

Developer

Yes?

I was wondering if you would like to work together sometime

Developer(+1)

We could team up for the next jam, tho i use unity and you use construct so that would be a lil problem i guess

Hello. How have you been lately?

Really solid concept for a puzzle platformer! Very short, not sure if the levels looping was intentional or not but still a solid entry!

The visuals and audio were quite solid, but the puzzle design was kinda 50/50 imo. Basically every single puzzle I solved my just going through the level linearly. Maybe if the puzzles had alternate routes to mislead the players.

Great work tho, I had fun!

Developer

Yeah i had troubles with creating puzzles, in the making of the game i noticed that i suck at creating puzzles and since i only added the bare minimum of objects i also had not much to work with :P

Also yeah the levels looping is intentional because i had no start and end screen so i just decided to loop it because i thought that was nicer than just having a text say "You win" lol

puzzle design is hard tbh so I feel you hehe. Also I think the looping is a pretty cool way to handle it haha. Great work!

I'm a really big fan of this game. It's a really nice use of the limitation. The visuals are really nice and the mechanics are well thought of and well made. The puzzles are nice, and I think it would be very cool if you revisited this and added more (the mechanics could make for some really nice puzzles that the player would have to stop and think about to figure out the solution). The player feels pretty good, but adding things like coyote time would make the player feel even better. Really great entry all around!

Developer

Thanks for your awesome feedback! I will maybe actually rework the game (Because the code very unclean and rushed) and i would add more stuff + i would work on better physics and more things that are helpful to the player. ^^

Oh also, I saw a really great video by Game Maker's Toolkit a while ago on puzzle design, which really helped me with making my game for the Brackey's Game Jam. I would really recommend watching it, it outlines a lot of the key principles that make rlly good puzzles that make you stop and have to think but are also satisfying to solve.

Developer

Oh that is very helpful, thanks! ^^

Terrific aesthetic. I will say that the puzzles are mostly 'jump across platforms' with extra steps.

In a way all puzzzles are just winning with extra steps XD but tysm for your comment ^^

Great! As I commented here this limitation was hard and I had something like this in mind: man -> zombie -> skeleton -> spirit. I’m glad that somebody thought of something similar, and well done indeed.

The art style is really good, would love to see more levels ^^

Cool mechanics and art style!

I'd suggest to add a key to restart the level: I got stuck in the level 4 (fallen between the 2 B lines on the right as a ghost) and I had to restart the game to complete the level!

Had fun playing though! :)

Developer

Oh yeah i did not even notice it because i was pressured to release the game but i will def fix it when i (maybe?) continue this game :D

Nice use of the mechanic! I think we use it the same way in both our games. I love the concept of tiles changing whether you are dead or alive! Although I found that the puzzles were not making me think a lot. I was just following a linear path. Good job on the submission. This concept is awesome!

Submitted(+1)

Smart use of the mechanic, and there's a lot of space for you to iterate and improve on those puzzles. Lots of potential here. Good job!

I bet this one will be the winner

Nice puzzle mechanics :D

Good take on the limitation ! The few levels use the death feature nicely.

It would be nice to see a version with more levels that push the idea further :)

Great work! I really like the graphics and background music, i was a bit confused when the levels kept repeating themselves. To me, a bit more levels (with level progression, e.g text:. lvl 1/40), sound effects, and a clear tutorial/instruction screen would be great!

Developer

Yeh i thought about adding a Tutorial but all the people who tested my game said that they understood it clear enough so to save myself a bit of time i just cut it, sadly that was not enough and i only got 3 levels lmao, thanks for your nice comment! :D

Nice, your concept is pretty similar to mine. I wish my art was as good as yours though! Great game.

It's a good concept, the pixel art is good, the gameplay interesting. Good job!
