I was looking forward to playing this after reading your design document and it didn't disappoint, very satisfying and a surprising amount of juice for a prototype (the escalating sound on the rank increase was unexpected but cool). Very cool boss fight at the end and the controls were super smooth. Got much easier once I figured out how could just hold down Z.

I'm not a shooter player so take my feedback with a grain of salt.

- It felt like there was a delay between the bomb being detonated and the nearby objects being destroyed. It made me wary of rushing in and using the bomb but it has a limited range so that feels like the intended strategy.

- I remember from the doc the bomb had two levels and the player could take a few hits (I think), is that still going to be implemented or did I miss it somehow?

Great job so far! Looking forward to the final build.

Ok, I don't know how to do better than this :P

Great stuff, game feel was excellent. Only thing I'd want is more color variety to distinguish between my own shots, enemy shots, and enemy projectiles. I'd attribute at least a handful of deaths to a sneaky shot being hidden by my own bullets.
