Welcome to the Godot Wild Jam which starts the second weekend of every month.
Whether you're a person who likes to go wild, a casual game dev, Godot fan, or you just stumbled upon the engine recently and would like to have a go at it, then this is the event for you.
Interested in using the Godot Wild Jam logo in your game as a splash screen? Go to this Google Drive and download: Godot Wild Jam Logo.
Members of the Discord channel will be able to submit theme ideas to our #theme-vote channel. The channel will be unlocked for three days.
The organizers, will discuss and decide the actual theme. They will pick one from the suggested themes from the Discord.
Wildcards are an optional limitation to add a unique challenge in addition to the theme. Pick one or pick all. It's up to you. Wildcards are revealed the same time as the theme, and there are always only 3. Ignoring wildcards completely will not incur a deduction in judging.
Please include the wildcard that you used in your splash screen, main menu, in-game, or credits screen to let us know which one you used. We recommend placing it on the splash/main menu screen or scaling the graphic down and placing it in a visible but unobtrusive way. All wildcard images will be available in the google drive via the folder path Wildcards -> GWJ #
BONUS: For this GWJ, you may submit to both GMTK jam and our jam. Please note:
If you are submitting to both GMTK and GWJ, please know that you must adhere to the rules and themes of both. Good luck!
When uploading for GWJ, please upload either a separate GWJ-version to the same game page or make 2 separate itch.io game pages. Thanks. Submissions that fail to do this will be removed.
This is to the Godot Documentation for Exporting Your Project. Otherwise, we won't be able to download and play your game!! The docs are your friend. <3
Submitters and contributors will be judging games on the following:
> Theme: How well does the game adhere to the chosen theme?
> Fun: Was it fun? Enjoyable?
> Controls: How smooth is the game? Are the controls clunky or intuitive?
> Graphics: Does the game look good? Does the art style fit the type of game? Is the pixel art charming?
> Audio: How is the music? Does it fit? What about the sound effects?
> Originality: Were you pleasantly surprised by some game mechanic or design in the game?
