Building and making complete games is a lot of work, that takes a long time, but that's where game jams come in! You have one weekend, you're given a theme to inspire you and then you just make something fun! The theme for this jam will be announced when it starts and from there you can take that theme and make whatever it inspires you to do, then submit your game before the jam ends!
Whether you've yet to release a game or have released a bunch, developing and building a small game in one weekend is a great way to test your skills, and most importantly at the end of it all you've got a game officially released. If you're in the middle of making a game, doing a game jam can help give your brain a break from your normal design problems and, after the jam, you'll feel even more inspired to get back to your game!
Some amazing game jam games have been made in just a few hours, and as it's a game jam, your entry doesn't need to be beautiful and polished, just getting across the core mechanic in a fun way is more than enough! There is no requirement to spend the full time making your game, feel free to submit early or enter in the middle of the jam.
So join the jam and lets make some games!

The theme for the jam is combining genres and is generated by you at http://bit.ly/gpjam3theme

You will use the generator to create an individual theme for your entry, but if you want to create your own genre combination for an entry you can do that too! It’s all just a starting point to make something fun! Just make sure to mention what your theme is on your submission page!
The rules are pretty straightforward whether you’ve participated in a game jam before or not!
My personal favourite game, as well as the game voted best by the community will each receive a free copy of one of my Udemy courses, to use or share with anyone they choose! But, of course, the main prize is having a completed game for other people to play!
Anything you want! Use Unity, Unreal, GameMaker, Construct, Flash, Godot, your own engine or whatever other software system you want to use. It doesn’t matter what you build it in, just make a game!
Once you've hit the Join Jam button at the top of the page, and the jam has started, it'll be replaced by a "Submit Entry" button. From here you'll be either able to create a game page for your entry, or, if you created the page already before submitting, it'll give you the option to add your game to the jam. Then just make sure you have the correct files uploaded here on itch! :)
