Fam Jam begins again soon!

Our fifth official jam is coming! This is a weeklong  jam, and everyone is welcome to join.

We have one month before we begin an exciting week of making games and sharing them with the Jam Fam community. Let's start the new year with some great games and a little healthy competition. 

Join the Jam Fam discord to get help, talk about game dev, and team up for the jam!

Cash Prize

Alongside our normal rating (which is based on votes from fellow submitters), we will also be awarding two cash prizes; one for $100 USD and another for $50 USD. 

To avoid vote manipulation, these will be chosen by a panel of judges (to be announced), though we will take itch.io submission ranking heavily into account while choosing our prize winners.

The winners of both the ranking and the recipients of the cash prizes will be announced publicly after the jam (both here and on the discord server).

Rating Metrics

After submissions are due, there will be a two week period given to play and rate games. Don't skip out on this part! Playing games and leaving detailed, constructive feedback is a lot of fun, and it's also the best way to get your own game noticed.

Games will be rated by other submitters, and each one will be ranked based on these fields:

• Fun & Creativity
• Music & Sound
• Polish & Design
• Artwork & UI
• Theme Relevance

Rules

1. You can use any engine or tools you like.
   
2. You can use any assets which you have rights to use (make sure to give proper credit though).
3. Please keep games rated T/PG-13. Please use appropriate cover art and content warnings.
4. No updates can be made after the submission period, make sure to leave time for bugfixes!
5. You must work on this game only during the allotted period. 
6. Your game should draw inspiration from the jam theme.

We have two themes to choose from. Only one is necessary, but you can use both if you want! The themes are:
