#2d #game #scralbum #demo
Hello again.
I hope you're all doing well today.
Let me just say that I'm very thankful right now since I'm almost done with the demo for this next small game of mine. And also, it finally has a title: Scralbum.
I honestly spent lots of time figuring out a short yet interesting name for this next small project. After many days of going through the different kinds of titles that I had, I settled on a word that combines two existing ones.
Basically, Scralbum is a combination of the words "scrapbook" and "album".
I've decided that this title was suitable enough for the kind of project this was. It's simple, yet somewhat thought-provoking. And if you would like to know the concept that's behind this title, here's a little summary of it:
Scralbum is about two different characters. One likes the people around them, the other doesn't. As such, they both have different worldviews and mindsets. This short demo will focus on how they first met each other. And if it were turned into a full-fledged game (which would look very different from this, I'm sure), the story would focus on the ups and downs of their friendship.
So yeah, one of the main reasons why I wanted to create this project other than practice and improve my game development skills was to tell a good story. Because let's face it, we all have those.
And as a little teaser, here's a short video of the title screen.
Featured music from Scott Buckley.
Again, I'm so thankful that I'm nearing completion of this demo. And I hope that it will be decent enough for those of you who wish to play it. Obviously, it won't be perfect. But still, I'm happy to have gotten this far in practicing my game development skills.
Thank you so much for having the time to read this, and I hope and pray all the best for you.
God bless.
