Group indie game - Dev log Week 8

Hello everyone! Welcome to week 8 of my blog posts discussing the development of our indie game "Seams" With only three weeks left our entire team is hard at work on making sure we have a finished build by the end of the deadline.  We now have cutscenes in the game which means that level 1 is almost entirely done and we can soon move onto level 2. Now that we had the main concept and design of the game finished near the beginning of development, I have mostly been working on the GDD and Scrum sheet since then.

Alongside the Scrum sheet I have been putting all the weekly tasks for all members on trello for the past 8 weeks,  This makes it way easier for me and the team to keep track of what their supposed to be doing. I've colour coded each task to the specific development team e.g. Red for programming and Purple for design. Doing all the backend management has helped me learn the most efficient way of communicating with your team members and how to make sure all this makes sense to your co-workers. I have also learned some methods that I could use in future group projects that would make things much more streamlined and easier for me.

Another thing I've wanted to talk about is the GDD, personally this isn't coming together as I've hoped. at first I thought it would be simple but due to the constant changing development I find it hard to write information that stays true to the final game especially since there is no final game or even prototypes of level 2 and 3, Hopefully in the end the GDD comes out well but its not looking too good.

That's all for this week, Thanks for reading!
