this games atmosphere is the most comforting shit ive ever experienced. just the music, the story and characters, the art like gaddamn. snowy cabin in norway alr has the best vibes but then you add everything else and its kinda perfect. imo the cuddling and hugging scenes bring me unspeakable amounts of joy. gratz to prince o sky for the arvo rune art its fits the game so nice <3. my new comfort game and it should be everyone elses too :3

I've tried and played countless of FVNs, do you want recommendations? I have an entire collection just for "those holding a special place in my heart" numbering close to 70, I believe. Since you're new to the whole thing in general.
About Repeat: It's one of the oldest FVNs, that didn't get abandoned, with a compelling and thrilling story, but in my opinion not so great characters. However that could have changed since then, so it is a pretty good recommendation. Although I wouldn't say Dawn Chorus and Repeat are comparable.
Btw. what's your favorite genre or most important element in a VN?
That's definitely a criteria that is important, unless unique means just different and not different from most/all other characters or love interests. Therefore Tyson was/is my favorite love interest of any FVN, who is basically best friend friend, not literal dad and lover all at once for the MC. Backstory isn't really important to me, because characters have to be more than 1/2 dimensional from the start to keep me invested in the first place or the story is intense. You could say a backstory adds depth, but I think it can also be cheating.
The best gay novel trilogy I ever read has the greatest characters of any story I know. Everyone is unique and interacts in a believable way. Their backstories are very intense.
I don't mind a well written sex scene, but it's hard to get them I feel like and can even ruin a FVN (creator too) in my case with Tennis Ace. Romance is always welcome, if it is introduced correctly and executed in a natural pace. Some FVNs such as "cute'n fluffy" (forgot the name) completely fail or ridicule this crucial aspect.
So far I have done nothing but love this vn the characters, the style, the story, the paths and more just leaves me wanting more the characters are so lovable but also deep with their own story's and thoughts the choice of location was very creative and honestly I enjoy it. The y/n and his thoughts are very capturing of a personality I can't quite place but I find it interesting same goes for the characters (my Fav Lake & Rune something about them just charms me) and side note I do think the music is just lovely thanks if you read this keep your work going your doing spectacularly have a good day people! :)
Wow...just wow, what an amazing experience this game is, the characters are all loveable and charming in their own way, their story and struggle felt so real and relatable, I've rarely cried in VN but this game managed to brought tears in one of the routes, and the music! Man the soundtrack is AMAZING! it feels very nostalgic and soothing, I've been stuck in the title screen for almost an hour cuz of it lol, definitely going to listen to it everyday now whenever I feel stressed or just need to unwind from alot of things, Keo and the rest of your team, you're doing an amazing job and I can't thank you enough for this gem of a game, a solid 10/10!
I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the best thing ever. Not just the best VN but one of the best things I've ever read in my entire life. I find so much comfort in these characters and most of the struggles that they face are so relatable. This VN has helped me get through so hard times and personally, I think that it changed me as a person, maybe even kept me here on this earth. Keo's writing and the way that he describes scenes and feelings are absolutely phenomenal, I don't think I've felt so many emotions while reading before. THE BED ART CAUGHT ME OFFGUARD- i never choked on my drink while looking at something so exquisite . That such a beautiful moment, physical comfort really is amazing, i need some of that. I'm sorry for the way i am acting in this moment I am just a simple Rune...well maybe simple isnt the word but yea Im a Rune lover. That moment touched me, I figured rune was going through alot of things because hes one of those 'Perfect Boys' but in reality he has so much flaws (???) which i love about him. I love characters like that, always happy and seems perfect but isn't behind the smile. Im probably going to edit this later and expand on how i feel but right now im going to hold back. Also whats his coach address how dare he make me and Rune cry.
Crazy Theory: (but I think it's likely true) Torulf and Lake are having one-night stand sessions.
Lake and Torulf are currently in a friendly relationship (first introduced when he fetches Torulf's jacket for him).
Lake mentions that he met Torulf at one of the bars close to university (I'm not implying that something always happens at bars, but Torulf mentioned that he has a flat close to uni, and knowing he has a thing for "getting what he wants," he might have befriended Lake for those reasons. Idk might be a stretch.).
(Torulf Route) When you told Lake you're asking Torulf for the room stay, he replies with, "Torulf? Are you that close already? Well, I'm curious about his response," or something along those lines. Idk if it's a stretch but this might be implying to Lake's current perception of Arvo being straight.
When you came out to Lake, he mentions that he does things with other guys, but not only once.
While you were eating with him and Jorgen, he was texting someone, which Arvo didn't think much of.
In the middle of the night, when you woke up in Lake and Jorgen's room (Lake Route), you see him going out of the room and making sure that everyone's asleep (when he glances at you).
(Torulf Route) When you ask to stay with him, he cancels a plan, presumably with Lake, and ends up sleeping with you instead.
(Torulf Route) He mentions he wanted to spend the night with Lake and you at a bar in town.
(Torulf Route) Lake mentions that he plays VR at Torulf's place a lot, implying he'd been there on several occasions.
When you're staying with Lake and Jorgen, Lake invites Torulf into the room to plan the group bonding. He sits between you two and says he's lucky to have two cute cats between him (Implying that Lake's his type too). Lake protests and Torulf teases him about how his tail was touching Torulf's behind (or tail?) to which he blushes and shushes him.
Idk if I'm looking too much into this haha, but I'm really fixed on going through the Lake Route as my canon. I know Torulf's a no-strings-attached kind of guy, so I don't think Lake would find real happiness with him (refer to Lake's route about how Lake looks lonely and sad, as well as how Arvo perceives his body language). But that's just my opinion, so feel free to have yours too haha.
On that note, I'll give you all the love you need, Lake. So, you can stop searching for love in one-nights and come to me. 🥺🥺🥺

Downloaded this virtual novel about a year ago. Played for 30 mins and stoped. But a month ago did another try. I like some routes - Lake's, Jorgen's, Rune's, Devon's and specially Klaus's. It's a pleasure to see such a good picture, very high quality. The music is awesome. Now this music is my favorite. Compositor is blessed, brilliant genius. My regards.
coz thats the exact theme of the game. its supposed to be something simple and peaceful. if you’re looking for some kind of jaw dropping, flaming hoop jumping or like totally shameless story, this is not the one you’re looking for. And I don’t think leaving “Nuh uh, don’t like” would be a good idea. its like someone waking in your face and looking at it and then say “Nuh uh, ugly.”
No one’s stopping you from leaving negative comments but you atleast need to justify or express why.
Just criticism is not healthy, try to make it constructive atleast.
We understand things differently. I think comments are for your emotions after playing a specific game, and ratings are for showing what you like or not in detail. You don't understand that this was my emotion after playing this for more than an hour with some short breaks, and after all this time I don't like this game. Comment = emotion. If I would think that comments are for "constructuive criticism", I would've posted something else.
Plus, no one says "you can only post constuctive criticism here, nothing else" before you post your comment. That thought also looks so simple to me, just try to understand that people think differently, it works with every person, meaning if most people think this way a different person don't have do think this way too.
Constructive criticism is what helps creative people evolve. You're right, you can absolutely come in here and just be a dick about an artist's freely public, carefully designed, creative project that is already a super niche, difficult genre that they've worked hard on, say "Eww, gross" and just leave.
The alternative however, is to maybe acknowledge what it actually was you didn't like, and to give the creator some food for thought, maybe some insight they might not have. There's a saying "Say something nice or don't say anything." and there's a reason that exists, it keeps people from just getting torn down over and over with no incentive to improve.
I'm not saying you're not allowed to dislike, or even hate it, totally your opinion. But a little clarification on what was that looked so simple about it would make a big difference for the artist, the other players, even you.

First a confession: I ignored this VN back then because I wasn’t interested in deer furs but eventually, I decided I should play it for the sake of the story.
Now on to the main review.
Dawn Chorus.
A very sensual VN written with great care and mindfulness.
It felt like a breath of fresh air from the usual furry VN I played before that focuses more on hot characters you’ll drool over or a roller coaster ride of suspense and thrill. No. For me, it was all about feelings and connecting with people.
The VN itself despite giving you an option to choose a route (in a subtle manner) still allows you to bond with other characters in an intimate way. No event is not without a purpose nor felt like a filler. You can say it’s like a getaway, a therapy, a peaceful perfect world you can dive into and live in without the harshness of the outside world where you can float and relax.
Looking into technical writing, I felt that it wasn’t forced, it wasn’t too expressive, nor too strong. Simple words masterfully selected and manipulated to ensure the lightheartedness of each dialogues but still retains the deep feelings and emotions that one can understand without having to think.
I’d honestly recommend this to anyone who wants a wonderful vacation in a peaceful snowy covered lodge with wonderful people and a hearty meal for the soul.
This is the best visual novel I ever played. I can't say how much emotions I get just from looking at these characters. Will definitely wait for future updates.

I like the fact each character in Dawn Chorus is unique and has backstory, so I'd say that's a pretty important element for me.
There's also the fact most routes (safe for Torulf's) are looking to be more on the romantic/fluff side than sex-related.

Kudos to the Author for such an amazing job! The story was well written, and it was a nice change of pace to play something peaceful and wholesome (albeit the slight flirting, which I did also enjoy). Looking forward to more updates, especially for my adorable lion! 💖

Downloaded this virtual novel about a year ago. Played for 30 mins and stoped. But a month ago did another try. I like some routes - Lake's, Jorgen's, Rune's, Devon's and specially Klaus's. It's a pleasure to see such a good picture, very high quality. The music is awesome. Now this music is my favorite. Compositor is blessed, brilliant genius. My regards.

It looks so simple... I played this game and I don't like it, that's why I left a comment.
coz thats the exact theme of the game. its supposed to be something simple and peaceful. if you’re looking for some kind of jaw dropping, flaming hoop jumping or like totally shameless story, this is not the one you’re looking for. And I don’t think leaving “Nuh uh, don’t like” would be a good idea. its like someone waking in your face and looking at it and then say “Nuh uh, ugly.”
No one’s stopping you from leaving negative comments but you atleast need to justify or express why.
Just criticism is not healthy, try to make it constructive atleast.
We understand things differently. I think comments are for your emotions after playing a specific game, and ratings are for showing what you like or not in detail. You don't understand that this was my emotion after playing this for more than an hour with some short breaks, and after all this time I don't like this game. Comment = emotion. If I would think that comments are for "constructuive criticism", I would've posted something else.
Plus, no one says "you can only post constuctive criticism here, nothing else" before you post your comment. That thought also looks so simple to me, just try to understand that people think differently, it works with every person, meaning if most people think this way a different person don't have do think this way too.
Constructive criticism is what helps creative people evolve. You're right, you can absolutely come in here and just be a dick about an artist's freely public, carefully designed, creative project that is already a super niche, difficult genre that they've worked hard on, say "Eww, gross" and just leave.
The alternative however, is to maybe acknowledge what it actually was you didn't like, and to give the creator some food for thought, maybe some insight they might not have. There's a saying "Say something nice or don't say anything." and there's a reason that exists, it keeps people from just getting torn down over and over with no incentive to improve.
I'm not saying you're not allowed to dislike, or even hate it, totally your opinion. But a little clarification on what was that looked so simple about it would make a big difference for the artist, the other players, even you.

I feel like the amount of controversy surrounding your comment is a bit unnecessary, however, I would like to just point out that the reason people are upset is not because you didn't provide insightful feedback but because it was just a rude thing to say.

First a confession: I ignored this VN back then because I wasn’t interested in deer furs but eventually, I decided I should play it for the sake of the story.
Now on to the main review.
Dawn Chorus.
A very sensual VN written with great care and mindfulness. It felt like a breath of fresh air from the usual furry VN I played before that focuses more on hot characters you’ll drool over or a roller coaster ride of suspense and thrill. No. For me, it was all about feelings and connecting with people.
The VN itself despite giving you an option to choose a route (in a subtle manner) still allows you to bond with other characters in an intimate way. No event is not without a purpose nor felt like a filler. You can say it’s like a getaway, a therapy, a peaceful perfect world you can dive into and live in without the harshness of the outside world where you can float and relax.
Looking into technical writing, I felt that it wasn’t forced, it wasn’t too expressive, nor too strong. Simple words masterfully selected and manipulated to ensure the lightheartedness of each dialogues but still retains the deep feelings and emotions that one can understand without having to think.
I’d honestly recommend this to anyone who wants a wonderful vacation in a peaceful snowy covered lodge with wonderful people and a hearty meal for the soul.
