Im confused on how to get it working, when I press launch it brings up a thing that asks me wether to extract the file or not, I did but afterwards it didn't do anything? Am I being dumb?
You click the settings thing at the side of launch, then click manage, then open folder, go into the one that says DesktopGoose v0.3 and click the one that says GooseDesktop with the little picture of the goose beside it :P
Hello I love the idea behind this. I also have an idea/request for the next update if you can make it :) Here is the idea: When you highlight your desktop (like in the picture) then the goose gets trapped in the box you made! I hope you see this :)

for some reason, when I try to launch the desktop goose through the itch app for windows it only launches the "DesktopGoose v0.3 Extractor.exe" file instead of "GooseDesktop.exe"
had a good laugh with this, I showed it to my sister and thought it was cute and made me download it for her laptop. As a good brother, I had to add some notepad messages to her: "I know who you are [her name]. We are always watching." did the trick! On the other hand, it is fun and amusing especially on a boring night or on a lazy sunday afternoon.
a much easier option (without having to wait for the ESC) is opening/clicking on the bat file ( Close Goose.bat) it send you to command master and closes the game by itself. the bat file is inside a folder with the goose program.

You downloaded the extractor, now extract the goose's files by left clicking the extract button and you will see a folder for the goose. Inside that folder, there will be goosedesktop.exe
when extracting, you can move the extracted folder into somewhere you can easily find it, like in your desktop, after extracting, find goosedesktop.exe and enjoy the goose.
i accidentally deleted the desktop goose application on my mac and it's still running. without the app i can't get rid of it... does anyone know how to fix this?

is there anyway to make this available for chromebooks? im new to the whole coding sort of thing so i don't know what's compatible and what's not

It isn't possible. All Chromebooks can do is run Chrome, which means you can't run other programs like Desktop Goose.

Open the itch.io app and download it again. Click the settings and then manage then click open in folders. There you go.

If ur on mac, open the terminal and type
Killall "Desktop Goose"
If ur on windows then type
taskkill /f /im goosedesktop.exe /t
end task

It's from the close goose file inside the folder

That's why you don't have the same download button for the windows and Mac version
