Palimpsest Release and First Update [Draft 0.11]
Palimpsest [Draft 0.1] was released at 0448 GMT/ 2358 EST with two minutes to spare before the Tabletop Graveyard Jam deadline.
I was terrified that after staying up so late and getting as much done as possible, I would still miss the deadline due to exporting and uploading down to the wire. When I walked away from the computer at 0530 this morning, the page was bare bones and only the Print Spreads PDF was available. I literally added the temporary cover after submitting the timing was so tight!
The current PDF is still the mostly-finished draft 0.1, but with this 0.11 update I have added files for:
- High Quality Spreads and Pages PDFs
- Smaller Spreads and Pages PDFs
- GM Map (With and without background and separate legend)
- Player Map (With and without background)
I have also updated the itch page.
The current state of Palimpsest:
- The main body of the document, including the introduction, lore, hex map, all locations and their relative random tables are finished.
- The only thing missing from the adventure and hexcrawl aspects is an epilogue, so it is very much in a fully playable state.
- A number of the random tables at the end are either incomplete or unpopulated.
- The layout is mostly complete, but entirely finished and polished.
Plans for the future:
- Accessible and plaintext documents (I believe these are essential for a final release and apologise for being so consumed and blinkered by ADHD that I have not been so on top of this. As soon as Palimpsest [Draft 1.0] is posted my focus will be getting these documents in order for Against the Grey, Palimpsest and Wen's Deadliest Catch)
- I will also be hiring an editor for the first time.
- I would also like to hire a sensitivity reader with expertise in Hellenism and modern paganism to ensure my classical references, haphazard though they may be, aren't actually offensive.
- Some art and layout are subject to change.
- I would love to commission more art from the artists whose work both fill and actually inspired a lot of this supplement. Particularly:
- Chaoclypse
- Evlyn Moreau
- Justin Vandermeer
- Perplexing Ruins
- Roque Romero
- Thomas Novosel
- (Though this is truly pie in the sky)
That's all for now. I shall be in touch!
Long days and pleasant nights, Forgotten x
