Devlogs

Week 2: More pixel art, animations.

Pumpki-boo!
A downloadable game

(Ideally I will be making these devlogs as a Saturday tradition, however if you would like more daily updates of art, please feel free to check out my instagram!)

Over the past week I've been making spritesheets and doing some minor coding. We now have a start screen with a (sort of) functional UI, our pumpkin can walk around while actually looking like it instead of blinking in and out of existence, and we can move between rooms without getting stuck in weird places. (We as in you and I, dear Player. I am making the thing. I am making all the things, aside from the tunes, which are being composed Jake Wu/SiXing as we speak. If you're looking for tunes for your games, he's here.)

The library is mostly finished, though I'd like some more objects to populate the area. I'm looking forward to writing all the blurbs that come from the player trying to interact with various shelves, bottles and books. The next room is a bit more bare bones but I will be working on that this coming week. (I hope you are all enjoying your long weekend, those of you in the states like me)

Our new NPC is here as well! Though she is as of now unnamed, she is a lovely woman who is terrified of ghosts and needs your help. She's waiting by that fountain--you know the one, that big one that's a memorial of the Great Skeleton War?

Ideally tomorrow I will be fussing about with dialogue boxes and fixing that next room. I would also like to include, at some point, a friendly crow.

See you next week!
