Hello, Skwishy people. First of all, thank you to the hundreds (!!) of you who have played Skwish. Seeing my game at the top of Itch.io’s Playdate tag was an amazing feeling.
Today I’m releasing a v1.1.0 update that includes five new levels and expands the post-game Challenge Mode (renamed from “Score Attack Mode”). Every level now has a challenge score that represents the fewest moves I’ve taken to solve it. Match or beat the challenge to get a ⭐️!
More details are at the bottom of this post.
If you haven’t yet bought Skwish or are looking for more games to play, it’s included in the Playdate Community Bundle! You get 13 great games for just $29 (including Skwish). Be quick, as it’s only available until Wednesday, September 7th.
Also — I’m now on Twitter as @pawprintsgames. Follow for updates on Skwish, Cat World and, who knows, perhaps more Playdate games.
More about Challenge Mode
Challenge Mode is unlocked after you complete the final level. It includes challenge scores to beat and tweaks to the UI to better suit score-chasing gameplay. For example: the level select screen shows additional information, the pause screen shows the current move count, and when you finish a level you can restart without having to return to the menu.
If you want to play the game normally (perhaps showing it off to a friend), you can disable Challenge Mode within the level select menu.
Thank you to player Hipstereotype for the suggestion and Chromeblast for helping refine the challenge scores.
