As part of the Charge Creation Jam and Threads of Lachesis jam I began work on a new Tenkiwi project. This project is trying to do something I haven't done successfully before: combining the prompt driven gameplay that I've built for Tenkiwi with dice and other mechanics from more traditional RPGs.
The Laughing Kobold is the first "Prompted by Charge" game. It's built on the Charge SRD, which is a great lightweight rules system for building RPGs. My idea for Prompted by Charge is with a couple pages printed out and your smartphone handy you can be jumping into an RPG in minutes, with the story being made up on the fly based on the prompts you draw.
I've begun work building on this framework for a second game, revisiting the world of This Mission is Redacted to add some of the rules that felt missing from the gameplay there. Giving players more robust characters and skills they can roll should help the mysteries being solved feel a bit more interesting!
