#demo #update
Hello, guys!
We are back with an update for the month of October.
How has your October been? It's the month of Halloween! We are still working on the game - no worries. It's just that with school and other personal circumstances and stress of the team members, things have taken a bit of a dip, so we can't work on the game as quickly. We want to update regularly though, maybe monthly (or once every two months).
Anyway, as a general heads-up, we're likely going to be moving to a separate Twitter account dedicated to visual novel dev and studio announcements after this game is finished, so please look out for that, since the development of this game as a Yaoi Jam 2021 entry has been on my (crystal) personal account rather than a studio account. For now, updates for Scales of Fate will be via my account, but for any future games that may be published under that studio, they will be on a separate account.
Anyway, we will delve into a bit of the specifics more, but the big gist of it all is that we are currently working on bringing the updated demo to you before we work on the full game. You can think of this as a demo 2.0!

◦ Updated scenes
The current demo features mostly all of the first two chapters, but there were a couple of scenes we wanted to implement to explain a little bit more about the plot and also add more to a scene with one of our love interests, Mo Rui. He didn't get to have as much screen time as Lian Qiaoma or Luo Siyuan, so he got a little expansion of his own. In fact, here's a little preview of that added scene!
He just wants his fun. (Jin Shen's not happy. For now.)
We also went through and proofread through again and made some minor changes. There were some sentences that we felt could have been worded a bit better.
All the scenes we wanted to add and change are coded in! As time goes on, we're hoping to show some script previews straight from the documents of scenes from the full game after they've been finalized.
◦ GUI
Many thanks to Red-Chan, who runs WitPOP Games, we are getting a fully functional UI in the updated version! As you may know, the preferences in the current version is functional but visually a bit tacky. Also, another small update, as per feedback, the text has been made a bit bigger, which you can see in the screenshot above.
Please be sure to check out their games, especially if you enjoy light-hearted stories!
◦ CG list
We are also sorting out on what to add for CGs (we plan that 1 will be done by the beginning of November). The main thing is having an amount of CGs that won't cause one character to have too many over the course of the whole game relative to the others. As a result, we have created a spreadsheet that contains a list of CGs.
Something like this! (One of Mo Rui's CGs listed on there is for his route, so somewhere during or after chapter 3.) We are planning for the full game to have a gallery screen, but the updated demo may not have such a feature. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.

Anyway, that is the gist of what's been going on! If you read this far down, thank you so much. We appreciate the support you have given us, and we also really appreciate your patience as well. Anyway, seeing as this is October, here's a little gift from us: a special Halloween-themed image of Jin Shen, made by minniiete!
