This Weekend I took part in the GMTK Jam 2020 hosted by Game Makers Toolkit.
The Theme is: Out of Control
I had some trouble finding any good Ideas for this Theme for a while and pretty much wasted the first 24 hours searching for ideas on what kind of game I could make. I was trying to find a way of taking the player's control away from some aspect of the game completely.
But while I was watching a few GMTK Videos on Youtube (specifically the "Controllers Control Everything" Episode), I got the idea that I don't need to take the control away completely. I could just take a small bit by making the controls unorthodox and add some enemies that wrestle the player for control of the character.
And that's how "Curse of the Cursor" was born.
