such an interesting examination of sports in the general cultural consciousness (specifically american here but i think it applies to other cultures too more or less) and then the performance… gender, gender roles and gender dynamics as performance, liking sports as performance, clichés and their inversions…
i think this is one of my favourite interpretations of the theme!
going to be thinking about this one for a while... loved the ethereal distance of the warped photography along with how intimate and disturbing the narration is.fantastic
