Great game; I loved the atmosphere you created, I really felt compelled to dye the bunny. Bunny's design is great, he looks very pretty in red. The voice acting was perfect in this game, really fit perfectly with the design and gameplay.
I had a lot of fun with both this game and Dye the Bunny 2; you did a really great job!
Thanks for playing! You played the second game's demo, could you share your video on that game's page too? This is the first game in the series here on this page, thanks!
For a moment I thought Mark Hamill was narrating the bunny!
This seemed to be some sort of fever dream nightmare that I really dug - the tension of Ellie collecting the eggs in an almost innocent way juxtaposed by Dye The Bunny constantly cajoling her to DYE. THE. BUNNY. was an interesting premise.
I always give my videos pros and cons on Itch.io and are only my findings after having played and digested the game. I think anyone who can put together a game deserves all the praise regardless of any critiques, and will always give constructive criticism.
Pros:
Tension fuelled fever Dream/ Precisely what ya need for the Bank Holiday weekend ;)
Ambiguous characters/endings - had a kind of Alice in Wonderland vibe, mixed with a Kafka nightmare
Great voice over work and soundscape
Cons:
Wasn't entirely sure if the 'Dye The child' area was meant to hold some information or was just atmospheric setting. Perhaps a mechanic could be implemented here or a puzzle for the player to solve to progress?
Wasn't sure where to go after reading the red book, didn't realise there was a staircase next to the table. More my own fault than anything else but perhaps a little note by the bunny indicating the path would have been preferable.
Overall - a great experience and can't wait for the next one!
Glad the game was scary and tense, and yeah I'm proud of the voice work in this too, they did an amazing job.
Dye The Child area was mostly an atmospheric piece into the game, as well as a small indicator to make more connections between the child, blood and dyeing, which all are important for the ending of the game. I can see that there were people who missed the door after the book so yeah I think I could've added some sort of visual indicator there, I thought the loud door sound was enough but the visuals could be improved for that moment.
Thanks for your thoughts, hope you had a great Easter!
