Completely random dialogue dead-ends seem to be a popular trope/gamely style a lot of people like. That's cool. Glad people are finding the things they enjoy. However, there is a comment section and have no problem using it to express my frustration with unknowable/unpredictable consequences. Especially when I'm vested in the story.

Early and seemingly innocuous choices I could have no knowledge of picking correctly only snowballing into locking out massive sections of content and characters feels unfair and frustrating to me. Not giving any feedback takes that sense of control from the player. Especially when you don't know anything about plot or personalities at the beginning. Choices are entirely random.
A "good" example of this is the VN Halfway House. The premise intrigued me and I liked the art style/3d models. A smaller scope felt refreshing and the story felt mature for a change. You know, not targeted at children as a lot of these are. Then about halfway into Halfway House, I realize that I'm missing a ton of content from the MILF who runs the place. Looking at a walk through; insteadof the young man just getting out of prison for aggressiveness approaching the counselor/caretaker with respect and building into something more, you are intended to molest her from the very first choice. If you don't, it's a perpetual losing game for one-third of the characters, and the only way to get out of it is to start over from the very beginning.
Again, people can like blind mazes that lead to dead ends. People can like playing through the same content over and over and clicking random options until they happen to get the correct combination. People can like alt+tabbing to check a walk through instead of the game itself giving some type of feedback/knowledge to inform your choices. Fantastic.
That being said. My personal opinion about what I enjoy cannot be wrong. If you think an opinion can be wrong, your existence is probably harming humanity as a whole.

If you haven't already noticed, the choices of a dating sim like this one are based on decisions IRL, whereby the most 'innocuous' choice, as you've put it, can lead to the most drastic changes.
If you find that you've missed out on a path with one of the characters, guess what? THERE'S A SAVE MENU! Go back and make the alternative decision in order to achieve the outcome you wanted. There's even a SKIP button there so that you can fast forward through the conversations you've already read through.

For multiple play throughs! Unlike life, in games it is possible to get the first run all 0's and just come back and make different choices. This is how these kinds of games that are not all about the H content can survive. Enjoy the play-throughs and skip the walk-throughs. It is much more fun discovering things on your own.

idk about the game but i just cant sit through the torture of reading white text with extremely bright back ground. couldn't get past the beginning in the house..just way too straining for my eyes. the color of the text isnt a problem but the background is just way too bright and very light colors.
What part is that? All I get is white text on either black background or in a semi-transparent box with plenty of contrast. In fact, I just skipped until reaching [a certain spooky place] and didn't see a single background that's too bright for white text. Maybe share a screenshot?

Holy crap! These last 2 chapters were absolutely spellbinding. This is shaping up to be one of my favourite time travel stories of all time. Hey, I'm having a problem. The game crashes when I enter my character name, it also crashes when I save.
I've played this game before and finished the episode 1, 2 and 3part one, deleted it afterwards to have more storage. It works fine that time, a few lags during scenes but no crashes.
Is there any device requirements that I should know? I really like this game, the story, the characters, and animations. I felt bad deleting the game last time, and I really want to see the continuation of the story.
I'm sorry you are having problems. I don't know why but some devices have a trouble running it. You could always try joiplay plug-in for Android. I've never used it but I heard you can play PC version of renpy games on Android with it. I'm not sure how good it works though. In the meantime, I'm going to try to see why some devices have trouble on Android and I'm also going to update renpy for the next version. Maybe that might help. Sorry you're having trouble.

Thank you for this comment. I was about to just wait for chapter five to come out since i was having problems with extracting the files from Mega. I tried Anonfiles but i didn't really know what to do lol, so i just found a compressed version and it worked.
[Forgot something important: the sex scenes in this game are among the best, likely the best unless I am forgetting something, I have ever seen. And I have played porn/hentai games since the 90s. Nothing too wild, but sensual as fuck (maybe a bad analogy). Funny how I forgot to mention this initially.]
Damn. What a game. At first I thought Krystal looked a little too Barbie-like, but I thought, what the hell, maybe fucking Barbie could be one of those one-off fetishes. But the characters and the story got their hooks in me fast, and Krystal is one of my favorite characters now, in any game. The heavyweights of character development are Darci and Jenny though. Hell, I like all the girls and older women, even Cindy. So much heart. Just to seal the deal, the MC is unobtrusive and there are many haha-funny moments.
And the game feels so polished. The animation. The facial expressions. The music. The sound effect. The moaning. The transitions. I can believe one person made this, but that person poured a lot of their life into this.
Anyway. I supported with $10 for now. I wanted to support with $20 but I am waiting to see if Jestur is able to continue working on this game. If so, I am thinking of going on Patreon, even though I have always considered myself too blue-collar to be a patron of the arts. If not, I'll come back with that other $10.
This game made me think maybe Stein's Gate is a good anime. I didn't even like Stein's Gate! I found it a little pretentious. As crazy as the premises of this game are, it feels down to earth.
There's a few good rivals for the animations, images, story, and vibe. But this one has it's own unique thing going for it.
Caribdis' games on the list as well as Being a DIK (some good, some bad but amazing story/game), Runey's Harem Hotel had some pretty good animations but the girls' story progressions are pretty damn good and there are A LOT of activities, and I'm a pretty big fan of City of Broken Dreamers too. (just a list for anyone looking for a few well known VNs to try)
That out of the way, Ripples has it's own appeal. I legit laughed during quite a few scenes because they were genuinely funny, the friendship and sexual discovery with Darci is somewhat of a believable plot too. Who hasn't had a best friend in HS/college of the opposite sex that you kissed or fooled around with a little?
Jestur had some surgery done on their sinuses and has had a rough recovery, that's why work stopped for a bit. Here is their most recent update as of the beginning of the week for anyone who doesn't know:

I'm not going to go into too much detail about my health because I'm sure you guys are sick of hearing about it. I'm going to start easy this week and not do as many hours as I normally would and see how that goes.
Before my surgery, I already had some work done so I have a good head start, but I will go more into detail about the update and show some previews next time. Your list is great. Harem Hotel is on my must-play list. Being a DIK is on my must-buy list. And Caribdis' Once in a Lifetime was my top favorite before Ripples; I haven't decided if any character in Ripples surpasses Lauren and Judie for me.

Another thing that struck me about Ripples is how much nuance Jestur put into the game. On my third time watching the exchange between Brad and Lizzie where he was hitting on her (because I find the exchange sweet), I finally noticed that Lizzie looks at MC during a line. Just that line. It is not explained, probably never will be, but it made my heart skip. And when Krystal was doing her little Netflix chant on her first date, such a small thing, but it immediately changed her from just a hoe to be fucked (sorry about my language) to a sweet fun character for me.
Jestur is making characters I'd like to date more than characters I'd like to have sex with. That's what pulls me into the game. That and I am waiting to see if there will be this big plot twist that surpasses every taboo I have seen in a game.
But I really hated that moment with Skylar. Not hated as "it was poorly made", it's juts that it kinda hurt to see such a nice relation betwen the MC and her, how you could choose to maybe ruin the relationship with Jessica just to be with her and as soon as the mom says "stay away from him" she doesn't even wants to search for a reason, nope, she just go away. But is still realy well made, the last update shows that something happened betwen the MC and Skylar's mom, so it's a well developed plot and it makes you wanna keep on playing just to figure out what the hell is going on.

Do you plan on making this downloadable through itch at any point? Mega always has issues, especially when getting into the territory of larger downloads.

Holy crap! These last 2 chapters were absolutely spellbinding. This is shaping up to be one of my favourite time travel stories of all time. Also am I tripping out or did I see Judie from OIAL in the cell phone shop? I get that you guys share resources and all but this felt like an actual cameo. All the thumbs up!

Hey, I'm having a problem. The game crashes when I enter my character name, it also crashes when I save.
I've played this game before and finished the episode 1, 2 and 3part one, deleted it afterwards to have more storage. It works fine that time, a few lags during scenes but no crashes.
Is there any device requirements that I should know? I really like this game, the story, the characters, and animations. I felt bad deleting the game last time, and I really want to see the continuation of the story.

I'm sorry you are having problems. I don't know why but some devices have a trouble running it. You could always try joiplay plug-in for Android. I've never used it but I heard you can play PC version of renpy games on Android with it. I'm not sure how good it works though. In the meantime, I'm going to try to see why some devices have trouble on Android and I'm also going to update renpy for the next version. Maybe that might help. Sorry you're having trouble.
For me it will only get worse. My device does not run games with Ren'Py 7.4.x.

Thank you for this comment. I was about to just wait for chapter five to come out since i was having problems with extracting the files from Mega. I tried Anonfiles but i didn't really know what to do lol, so i just found a compressed version and it worked.
[Forgot something important: the sex scenes in this game are among the best, likely the best unless I am forgetting something, I have ever seen. And I have played porn/hentai games since the 90s. Nothing too wild, but sensual as fuck (maybe a bad analogy). Funny how I forgot to mention this initially.]
Damn. What a game. At first I thought Krystal looked a little too Barbie-like, but I thought, what the hell, maybe fucking Barbie could be one of those one-off fetishes. But the characters and the story got their hooks in me fast, and Krystal is one of my favorite characters now, in any game. The heavyweights of character development are Darci and Jenny though. Hell, I like all the girls and older women, even Cindy. So much heart. Just to seal the deal, the MC is unobtrusive and there are many haha-funny moments.
And the game feels so polished. The animation. The facial expressions. The music. The sound effect. The moaning. The transitions. I can believe one person made this, but that person poured a lot of their life into this.
Anyway. I supported with $10 for now. I wanted to support with $20 but I am waiting to see if Jestur is able to continue working on this game. If so, I am thinking of going on Patreon, even though I have always considered myself too blue-collar to be a patron of the arts. If not, I'll come back with that other $10.
This game made me think maybe Stein's Gate is a good anime. I didn't even like Stein's Gate! I found it a little pretentious. As crazy as the premises of this game are, it feels down to earth.
There's a few good rivals for the animations, images, story, and vibe. But this one has it's own unique thing going for it.
Caribdis' games on the list as well as Being a DIK (some good, some bad but amazing story/game), Runey's Harem Hotel had some pretty good animations but the girls' story progressions are pretty damn good and there are A LOT of activities, and I'm a pretty big fan of City of Broken Dreamers too.

That out of the way, Ripples has it's own appeal. I legit laughed during quite a few scenes because they were genuinely funny, the friendship and sexual discovery with Darci is somewhat of a believable plot too. Who hasn't had a best friend in HS/college of the opposite sex that you kissed or fooled around with a little?
Jestur had some surgery done on their sinuses and has had a rough recovery, that's why work stopped for a bit. Here is their most recent update as of the beginning of the week for anyone who doesn't know:

I just wanted to let you know I am getting back to work now. I took a longer than expected break from my surgery and I wanted to get back to work sooner but I was still having problems after my surgery and needed more time. I'm still having headaches and lack of energy and some other symptoms (which I'm not even sure are related to my sinuses or not) but I am going to slowly start working on Ripples now. I'm not going to go into too much detail about my health because I'm sure you guys are sick of hearing about it. I'm going to start easy this week and not do as many hours as I normally would and see how that goes.
Before my surgery, I already had some work done so I have a good head start, but I will go more into detail about the update and show some previews next time. Before you reminded me, I completely neglected that City of Broken Dreamers might on on itch.io. I have been keeping an eye on it on Steam for a while but haven't dived in. Finally a chance to try the game first! Thank you.
Your list is great. Harem Hotel is on my must-play list. Being a DIK is on my must-buy list. And Caribdis' Once in a Lifetime was my top favorite before Ripples; I haven't decided if any character in Ripples surpasses Lauren and Judie for me.

Another thing that struck me about Ripples is how much nuance Jestur put into the game. On my third time watching the exchange between Brad and Lizzie where he was hitting on her (because I find the exchange sweet), I finally noticed that Lizzie looks at MC during a line. Just that line. It is not explained, probably never will be, but it made my heart skip. And when Krystal was doing her little Netflix chant on her first date, such a small thing, but it immediately changed her from just a hoe to be fucked (sorry about my language) to a sweet fun character for me.
Jestur is making characters I'd like to date more than characters I'd like to have sex with. That's what pulls me into the game. That and I am waiting to see if there will be this big plot twist that surpasses every taboo I have seen in a game.
Awesome game, everything about it it's 10/10.

But I really hated that moment with Skylar. Not hated as "it was poorly made", it's juts that it kinda hurt to see such a nice relation betwen the MC and her, how you could choose to maybe ruin the relationship with Jessica just to be with her and as soon as the mom says "stay away from him" she doesn't even wants to search for a reason, nope, she just go away. But is still realy well made, the last update shows that something happened betwen the MC and Skylar's mom, so it's a well developed plot and it makes you wanna keep on playing just to figure out what the hell is going on.
Great game, I'll be waiting for the next update.
Great game, forgot if I played it on pc or android, but had great character development and scenes. 5/5 like where the story is heading.
